Harold Kenneth “Kenny” Pancake, 75, of Ironton, Ohio passed away February 20, 2024 at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born August 6, 1948 in Ironton a son of the late Harold Austin and Hessie Stewart Pancake. Kenny was a truck driver for 25 years with Ashland/Marathon and retired in 2009. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army, member of the American Legion Post 806 and a member of South Hill Long Beard of Lawrence County Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Beverly Pancake and Brenda Ross. He is survived by three children Jody Jones (Joe), Howard Donald Pancake (Becky) and Kendora Pancake; grandchildren Haley Jones (Ryley), Isabelle Pancake, Colt Pancake, Joey Jones, Zander Pancake, Jacob Jones, Austin Mcfann, Jaxson Jones; great-grandchild Wrenley Jones; two sisters Barbara Stevens (Curt) and Dianna Stevens; two brothers Mike Pancake (Christy) and Jerry Pancake (Cheryl) and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service for friends and family will be held 2:00 P.M. Linda Frances Gibson Butcher
Linda Frances Gibson Butcher, Kenova native, passed away peacefully in her home on February 3, 2024 at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her parents Etna and Violet Gibson. She is survived by her fiance’ Jess Groves; sons Richie (Amy) Butcher and Larry (Randi) Butcher; granddaughters Allie (Nick) Elkins, Mandi Butcher, Emily Butcher and Erika Butcher and her great-grandchildren Barrett and Berkley Elkins. Linda devoted her life to her family. She never missed a game, event, or activity. She was truly the definition of selfless. Her beautiful smile and contagious laughter will be remembered forever. She loved all things sparkly, Harry Potter (a true Gryffindor at heart), Elvis Presley, and football especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Marshall. Above all, she loved her family. Charles Clinton Ferman, 86, of Huntington, was welcomed into the arms of his savior, as his faith became sight on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Spring Valley Freedom Baptist Church with Pastors Gary Graves and Bob McGlone officiating. Interment will follow in Cyrus Cemetery. Charles was born May 5, 1937 in Prichard, WV. a son of the late Wallace Ferman and the late Fern Murphy. Charles was an environmental specialist with Columbia Gas for forty-three years. His passion was golfing and serving the Lord in any capacity. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-father John Murphy; son Jimmy Ferman; daughter Jennifer Viohl and brother-in-law OB Stallard. Elizabeth “Libby” Eileen Hall went to her Heavenly Home January 30, 2024.
Libby was born January 29, 1943 in Thompson Valley, Tazewell, VA to her parents James Henry and Virgie White Scott.
She is preceded by her parents and her husband Mark Hall. Also a brother, her sister and brother-in-law Geneva and Walter Evans, a sister-in-law Christina Greene, and a stepdaughter Tonya Reid.
Libby is survived by a nephew Larry Evans and niece Jennifer Evans both of Kenova, WV, a grand nephew Jarrod (Michelle) Evans and great grand nephew and niece Waylon and Hazel Evans all of Kenova, WV, stepdaughter Lisa (Kenny) Mollett of Zanesville, OH, and stepsons Mark (Jayne) Hall of Ashland, KY, And Shannon (Jessica) of Bradenton, FL. Her very special fur babies Joey and Abbey. Several special cousins and friends.
Libby was a 1961 graduate of Vinson High School and a long time member of Westmoreland Quilt Blockers. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church.
During her life she worked at several businesses including Arch Coal and Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Judith Fay Hatten Booth
Judith Fay Hatten Booth, 87, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at her home on Thursday, January 25, 2024. She was born April 14, 1936 in Paint Creek, W.Va. to the late Allen Prichard and Nellie Murphy Michels. Judy was a graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School Class of 1954. Judy liked people especially her neighbors whom she enjoyed chatting with while sitting on her porch. Judy also was an avid dog lover who loved her dogs. She was a member of Buffalo Valley Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Hatten; and a sister, Carol Brown. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Michael and Melissa D. Hatten; her daughter, Lisa Kay Mullen; her grandson, Patrick Garrett Mullen; and several nieces and nephews and other family. Judy will be missed by her family and all who knew her. Donna Medley Painter
On Friday, January 27, 2024, Donna Medley Painter, 88 years old, entered her eternal heavenly home at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Donna was born on August 12, 1935 in Prichard, W.Va. to Sherman “Sherm” William and Alberta “Dossie” Smith Medley both deceased. She held several jobs over the years including Account Services at the Huntington Credit Bureau, Huntington, W.Va.; Collections Agent at King’s Daughters Hospital in Ashland, KY, along with acting as Manager of several large Hotel Specialty Boutiques in Daytona Beach, FL. Donna was a beautiful woman, who lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She loved chatting with family and friends, decorating her home, and cooking dish after dish for others. Donna was predeceased by her husband, William Edward Painter and her first husband, Charles William Adams. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rae Ann and Wendell Parsons; her son, Robert Joseph Adams; her beloved grandson and family, Jason William and Stephanie Parsons and her grandsons, Jared and Ian McCagg. They were all her KIDS! Special friends included her sister friend, Betty James, Jimmy and Barbara Blankenship and Reva Noble. Jeanetta Joanna Ratcliff Ferrell, 71 of Ceredo, W.Va. passed away on January 25, 2024 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. She was born May 26, 1952 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Roy “Steve” and Betty Irons Ratcliff. Jeanetta was employed by the Wayne County Board of Education as an Executive Secretary with 33 years of service. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo where she was involved in the Good News Club, the Snak Pak Ministry and she helped with the children on Wednesday and Sunday nights. Jeanetta was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Jaiyme Michelle Mills and a brother; Steven Scott Ratcliff. She is survived by a brother, Johnathan Lee Ratcliff; she also leaves behind two very special children to whom she was Nana, Dria and Shooter Parker; the parents of these special children, Jimmy and Nicole Parker and their grandparents, Dale and Dinah Ledbetter; and special friends, Kate Oldham and Cindy Lowe. Betty Sue Wilson, 81, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Friday, January 19, 2024 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Davenport. Betty was born February 11, 1942 in Kenova, WV a daughter of the late Doliver and Lena Brumfield Wilson. Betty worked in a skilled nursing facility for over 25 years. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a die-hard fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She has lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Iowa for 20 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons Philip Ailiff and Mark Ailiff; brothers Howard (Tom) Wilson, Jesse Wilson, Eddie (Joe) Wilson and two sisters Doshie (Jean) Sullivan and Juda (Judy) Dean.
