Nannie Marie Morrison Smith, 93, of Huntington, WV. passed away Monday, November 21, 2022 at her home. Nannie was born January 8, 1929 in Huntington, WV. a daughter of the late William Jennings and Elizabeth Perry Morrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alfie Smith, two brothers Lawrence Morrison and William Morrison and a sister Elizabeth Smith. She is survived by son John Smith; daughter Marilyn Graves; brother John Morrison; grandchildren Ryan Graves (Carley) and Brannon Smith; four great-grandchildren Bailey, Josie, Rylan and Sawyer; sister-in-law Judith Morrison; brother-in-law George Smith and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronnie Creed Hatten, 77, of Huntington, WV. passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Pastor Mitch Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Ron was born June 16, 1945 in Prichard, WV. a son of the late Anna Mae Hatten. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria Stevenson Hatten; sister Connie Ryan; brother Harry Spangler and granddaughter Sofia Creed Hatten. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Hatten; two sons Sean Hatten (Jenny); Larry Smith and a daughter Becky Ross (Will); sister Bonita Webb (Mitch); granddaughter Katy Burns and other grandchildren April Legg, Elliot Ross, Gage Ross and Amanda Langdon. Steven Griffin Jordan, 75, son of Cortland and Betty Jordan, passed away at his home in Catlettsburg, Kentucky on November 21, 2022. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Allen C. Jordan. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Linda R. Jordan, a brother, Marvin Jordan (Judy), children, Adam Jordan (Kelly), Evelyn Simmons(Bradwick), and Kristen Parsons(Joshua), grandchildren, Garrett Jordan, Hunter Jordan, Savannah Watts (Kyle), Luke Parsons, and Logan Parsons and his beloved dog Max.

Steve was raised and lived the majority of his life in Kenova, WV. , he loved his community and felt honored to be in service to it. A dedicated employee for over 30 years at Big Sandy Furniture he retired as Safety and Security Director. He served as Municipal Judge in Kenova from 1986-2019 and upon retirement he still dedicated his time as a visiting judge in order to continue the work he loved. Steve also was a devoted member of the Kenova fire department, and an Army veteran that served in Germany during the Vietnam Era. WSAZ recognized him as a Hometown Hero for his efforts in establishing Kenova’s Historical Society. Steve belonged to many organizations including The Masonic Lodge 110, Sons of The American Revolution, and The American Legion Post 93. One of the many joys of his volunteer work was playing Santa for the American Legion. He loved the joy and hope he brought to the children who told him their Christmas wishes at Breakfast with Santa and seeing the smiles on their faces during the Christmas parade when he and his wife rode the sleigh together. He was a member of Huntington Christian Church, and dedicated himself to Jesus. His whole life was dedicated to the service of others and the betterment of his community.

Katherine Allen Moore, 89, of Ceredo, W.Va., loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend and devoted teacher, passed away Monday, November, 21, 2022 peacefully at her home. Katherine was born May 27, 1933 in Huntington a daughter of the late Kerney and Dora Allen. She graduated from C-K High School and Marshall University. Katherine loved everything Marshall. She was employed by the Wayne County Board of Education and she taught for many years at Kellogg Elementary and C-K High School. Katherine loved teaching and after her public school career ended she began Winnie the Pooh Preschool, which she ran in her home on Ridgelawn Road in Kenova. She had a great desire to prepare children for their future and eventually Katherine opened The Training Station Preschool within the Kenova United Methodist Church with a dedicated staff which continues to teach children today. Katherine and her teachers, made an impact on generations of children in their care. She loved her church and through the years she served as a Sunday school teacher, worked with the children ministries, started the Fall Bazaar and volunteered to help anywhere she was needed. She was married to Donald Moore and together they raised two sons, whom she loved with all her heart. She also enjoyed spending time with her extended family and was a devoted daughter to her mother. Katherine spent her life caring for others and she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Beard Moore; a son, Aaron John Moore; a brother, Sherrill Allen and a sister-in-law, Jean Allen. She is survived by her son, Lance (Paula) Moore; grandsons, Seth (Katie) Moore and Blake (Megan) Moore; two great grandsons, Braylon Moore and Miles Poe; one brother, Frank Allen; a sister-in-law, Donna Allen; and a niece, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:30 on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Kenova United Methodist Church. Funeral services begin at 3:30 with Pastor Lindsay Thorp and Pastor Andrew Tennent officiating. Mark Alvis Christian, 50, of Largo, FL., went into the arms of Jesus November 11, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, FL. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 21, 2022 at the 20th Street Baptist Church in Kenova, WV. Visitation will be from 11 to 1. Mark was born November 26, 1971 in Huntington, WV. a son of John and Barbara Walker Christian. Mark graduated from C-K High School and Marshall University with a BS Degree in Biology. Mark was the Chairman of the Science Department at North Side Christian School where he taught Chemistry in St. Petersburg, FL. His faculty and students loved him very much. He attended Suncoast Community Church in Largo, FL and enjoyed going to the VA once a month to help the veterans. Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents Walter & Missouri Walker, Homer & Tennie Christian, aunt Mary and uncles Greg & Ronnie Walker. In addition to his parents Mark is survived by his wife Elizabeth Lynn Thomas Christian and step-son Talmadge Callihan (Brittany). He is also survived by brothers John A. Christian (June), Brian Christian (Melissa), Matthew Christian (Quintessence); nieces Katie & Holley Christian and 2 step-grandchildren Taj & Soren Callihan. He is also survived by aunts and uncles Rita Harney (Bob), Ray Walker (Debbie), Alfreda Chafin (Bob), Jeri Walker, Gladys Hamer, who loved Mark and a host of family and friends. Joyce Ilene Frazier, 81, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Joyce was born July 4, 1941 in Huntington a daughter of the late Charles and Okey Webb Grant. She is survived by her beloved husband Pearley Frazier; children Terry Frazier (Bev), Bambi Frazier and Kristie Cyrus (Eddie); she had a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren and a special thank you to her Pastor Bobby Young. Leah Ramona Morrison, 96, of Alexandria, VA, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022. She will be interred at Woodmere Cemetery, Huntington WV. Ramona was born in 1926 in Kenova, WV, daughter of the late Clarence and Jessie Stoner. In addition to her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Morrison, and brother, Ramon Stoner.

Judy Thompson Snyder, 77, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at her home. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Judy was born September 26, 1945 in Huntington, WV. a daughter of the late Albert Dow and Dorothy McCloud Thompson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elza Lee Snyder and a sister Freda Arrowood. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Alberta “Toodie” Gue (Greg); two sons and a daughter-in-law Tom “Goose” Snyder (Lori Mayhon) and Zeek Snyder (Leann); 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Marion Franklin Curnutte, 78, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Heritage Center. Frank was born September 2, 1944 in Huntington, WV. a son of the late Harry Benson and Doris Hatten Curnutte. He was a retired school teacher and coach. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanette Straley Curnutte and a son Marion Franklin “Fritz” Curnutte, II.  He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law David Curnutte (Stephanie); daughter Jamie Curnutte; grandchildren Andrew Crunutte, Justin Curnutte, Ashley Curnutte, Tristan Curnutte and Brielle Curnutte and Gina Gibbs. Claudia Gail Prince Daniels, 70, of Ashland, Ky. passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Claudia was born August 1, 1952 in Ashland, Ky. a daughter of the late James and Beatrice Thompson Prince. She was a former retired RN with King’s Daughters Medical Center having worked in numerous departments. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother James Edward Prince, Jr. She is survived by her beloved son Phillip Daniels; brothers John Prince, Paul Prince (Barbara), one sister Phyllis Daniels; two grandchildren Katelyn Mathis, Jack Daniels and three great-grandchildren.
