It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Mark Shirley, Sr., loving husband, doting father and loyal friend, on April 19, 2019. “Bub” was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Rosalie Shirley, father-in-law, Walter Bradley, and two sons, Brian and Michael Moore. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris Shirley, and four children, Lisa Stackhouse (Brian), Robert Shirley Jr. (Dorothy), Colleen Shirley (Donald Swanson), and Chris Moore (Bobbi Jo). Also left behind to mourn his loss are three sisters, Peg Shirley, Virginia Atkinson, Donna Unger (Barry), and one brother, Thomas Shirley (Stacey), 14 grandchildren, Katie Neal (John), Julie, Darcy and Colby Stackhouse, Gabrielle, Austin and Calvin Shirley, Madison Nessel (Nick Kappra), Piper and Bridget White, Parker Chapman, Tiffany Hardwick (James), Cody Moore and Morgan Dorr (Jason), 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Crum, Kay F

Kay F. Crum, 73, of Kenova, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at Cornerstone Hospital and is now rejoicing in Heaven with her father George Crum, mother Stella Crum, brother George ”Sonny” Crum and sister Betty Prario. She was born March 9, 1946 in Ward, WVa. She leaves behind a sister Nancy Brown and a host of nieces and nephews, Melissa Bailey, Michael and Emalee with whom she made her home. She also leaves behind her special running around buddy Melinda Calhoun. Kay will be remembered for her love of music, animals, life, and had a special ability to light up a room. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Maple Hill Cemetery. There will be no public visitation and no procession to the cemetery. Donald Newton,75, of Huntington, WV. passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 29, 2019 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Pastor Junior Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in Newton/Perdue Family Cemetery. Don was born March 15, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio a son of the late Orville and Opal Curtis Newton. He was a member of Community Church. He was a retired Sanitary Worker from the City of Kenova. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Jessie James Newton. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary M. Hill, Oma L (Barker)

OMA LEE (BARKER) HILL, peacefully left this earthly life on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 96 years and ten months surrounded by family at her home. She was born June 28, 1922 and was the eldest and last surviving child of Bernie Sr. and Brooke (Chapman) Barker. She was a resident and good neighbor of Route 75 for 48 years. She had worked at Mildred Bateman Hospital and Big Bear, Ceredo. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved cooking and having family and friends visit. She was a loving mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Cottle, Warren “W.T.”

WARREN “W.T.” COTTLE II, husband of Kristen Smith, passed away at his residence in South Point, Ohio, on Wednesday April 10, 2019. He was the son of Dianne Humphrey Ferguson (Robert “Fergie”) and Charles Cottle (Tricia). Warren was a general laborer at Steel of West Virginia and a 1997 graduate of CeredoKenova High School. He was also a United States Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by one daughter, Claire Cottle, and four sisters: April, Chelsea, MacKenzie, and Gracie Cottle; three step-sisters, Melissa, Stephanie, and Kimberly; and two special nephews and a niece, Tavian, Brayden, and Alianna; and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, April 18, 2019 with Pastor Bob Ingles officiating at Rollins Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to service time. Jesse Franklin Wilson, 89, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday April 11, 2019 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. He was born January 12, 1930 in Kenova a son of the late Doliver and Lena Brumfield Wilson. Jesse was a veteran having served during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force and he was a member of Crescent Lodge #32 AF & AM in Ceredo, WV. whose members will conduct graveside rites. He retired as a production supervisor from Houdaile Industries. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Gloria May Wilson and two brothers Howard “Tom” Wilson and Joe Wilson. Survivors include two sons and daughter’s-in-law Jesse F. Wilson (Wilma) and Paul Wilson (Cindy) and one daughter and son-in-law Pamela Harbour (Bruce); two brothers Jim and Bob Wilson; three sisters Jean Sullivan, Judy Dean and Betty Wilson; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. John H. Caldwell, 82, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. He was born March 9, 1937 in Wayne County a son of the late, Lewis and Clara Adkins Caldwell. He was a general laborer and retired from Pilgrim Glass. He was a member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Dakota Jane Tackett and two brothers, Boyd and Paul Caldwell. He is survived by his wife, Irene Rowe Caldwell; four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles (Jana) Caldwell, Randall (Sandy) Caldwell, James (Ed) Caldwell and John (Cheryl) Caldwell; three sisters, Nell Workman, Rose Pennington and Patty Workman; granddaughters, Angela (Mark) Krismer, Charlene (Robert) Amar, Amanda (Shawn) Tackett, Christina (Jeff) Vance and Ciara (Chad) Hatcher; grandson’s, Charles (Rosetta) Caldwell, Steven (Cindy) Caldwell, Scott Daniel Caldwell, Michael Caldwell, Nathen Caldwell, Brandon Caldwell, Preston Caldwell and Daniel Lee Lucas and 10 great grandchildren. Paul Arthur “Jado” Dickerson, beloved husband, Pappy and brother, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va. Paul was born November 2, 1937 in Kenova, W.Va. a son of the late Henry Hansford and Charlene Bash Dickerson. After graduating from high school and two years of college, Paul joined the US Navy. Members of American Legion Post #93 Kenova will perform Military rites. Paul retired from Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant where he was a foreman. He attended Kenova United Methodist Church and The First Independent Missionary Baptist Church of Kenova. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Michael and a brother, Charles H. (Butch) Dickerson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Hampton Dickerson; four daughters, Alicia (Kelly) Callaghan, Tammy Lucas, Tina (Perry) Sarver and Terry Hodgens; one son, Tommy Turner; six grandchildren, Meagan, Brittany, Morgan, Kristopher, Josh and Tyler; six great grandchildren, Bella, Livy, Kinley, Weston, Harlynn and Hank; one sister, Mary Hampton who he called “Sis”; one brother, Roger (Shelley) Dickerson and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Kenova United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott Byard and Pastor Jim Richards officiating.
