Mark Alvis Christian, 50, of Largo, FL., went into the arms of Jesus November 11, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, FL. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 21, 2022 at the 20th Street Baptist Church in Kenova, WV. Visitation will be from 11 to 1. Mark was born November 26, 1971 in Huntington, WV. a son of John and Barbara Walker Christian. Mark graduated from C-K High School and Marshall University with a BS Degree in Biology. Mark was the Chairman of the Science Department at North Side Christian School where he taught Chemistry in St. Petersburg, FL. His faculty and students loved him very much. He attended Suncoast Community Church in Largo, FL and enjoyed going to the VA once a month to help the veterans. Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents Walter & Missouri Walker, Homer & Tennie Christian, aunt Mary and uncles Greg & Ronnie Walker. In addition to his parents Mark is survived by his wife Elizabeth Lynn Thomas Christian and step-son Talmadge Callihan (Brittany). He is also survived by brothers John A. Christian (June), Brian Christian (Melissa), Matthew Christian (Quintessence); nieces Katie & Holley Christian and 2 step-grandchildren Taj & Soren Callihan. He is also survived by aunts and uncles Rita Harney (Bob), Ray Walker (Debbie), Alfreda Chafin (Bob), Jeri Walker, Gladys Hamer, who loved Mark and a host of family and friends. Joyce Ilene Frazier

Joyce Ilene Frazier, 81, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Joyce was born July 4, 1941 in Huntington a daughter of the late Charles and Okey Webb Grant. She is survived by her beloved husband Pearley Frazier; children Terry Frazier (Bev), Bambi Frazier and Kristie Cyrus (Eddie); she had a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren and a special thank you to her Pastor Bobby Young. Leah Ramona Morrison, 96, of Alexandria, VA, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022. She will be interred at Woodmere Cemetery, Huntington WV. Ramona was born in 1926 in Kenova, WV, daughter of the late Clarence and Jessie Stoner. In addition to her parents, Ramona was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Morrison, and brother, Ramon Stoner.

Judy Thompson Snyder

Judy Thompson Snyder, 77, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022 at her home. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Judy was born September 26, 1945 in Huntington, WV. a daughter of the late Albert Dow and Dorothy McCloud Thompson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elza Lee Snyder and a sister Freda Arrowood. Marion Franklin Curnutte

Marion Franklin Curnutte, 78, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Heritage Center. Frank was born September 2, 1944 in Huntington, WV. a son of the late Harry Benson and Doris Hatten Curnutte. He was a retired school teacher and coach. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanette Straley Curnutte and a son Marion Franklin “Fritz” Curnutte, II.  He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law David Curnutte (Stephanie); daughter Jamie Curnutte; grandchildren Andrew Crunutte, Justin Curnutte, Ashley Curnutte, Tristan Curnutte and Brielle Curnutte and Gina Gibbs. Claudia Gail Prince Daniels, 70, of Ashland, Ky. passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 7, 2022 at the Oakland Avenue Baptist Church, with Pastor Mike Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Claudia was born August 1, 1952 in Ashland, Ky. a daughter of the late James and Beatrice Thompson Prince. She was a former retired RN with King’s Daughters Medical Center having worked in numerous departments. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother James Edward Prince, Jr. She is survived by her beloved son Phillip Daniels; brothers John Prince, Paul Prince (Barbara), one sister Phyllis Daniels; two grandchildren Katelyn Mathis, Jack Daniels and three great-grandchildren. Jeremy Billy Dale Mathis, 44, formerly of Huntington, WV. passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Concord Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio after a long illness. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 7, 2022 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Minister Chris Stevens officiating. Jeremy was born March 21, 1978 in Huntington, WV. a son Billy D. Mathis and the late Barbara Welsh. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by two brothers Joel and Shane Mathis; paternal grandfather Billy E. Mathis, maternal grandmother Jane Lambert and cousin Brandon Frasher. He is survived by his son Max Mathis; father Billy D. Mathis (Jen); a special aunt and uncle Sharon and Edward Ison; paternal grandmother Margaret Mathis (Chester); uncle David B. Friday, November 4, 2022 at Hillcrest Cemetery. Debra was born June 3, 1963 in Huntington, WV. a daughter of the late George and Berva Baker Kinser. She was a retired school teacher having taught in the Putnam County School System. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roy Joseph Brown, two sisters Linda Kinser and Sandra Kinser Midkiff and two brothers Virgil Kinser and Rodney Kinser. Carl Reed Edwards, Jr.

Carl Reed Edwards, Jr., 74, of Huntington, WV. passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at his home. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Ceredo Christian Baptist Church with Minister Phillip Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ceredo Crescent Hill Cemetery. Carl was born May 22, 1948 in Kenova, WV. a son of the late Carl Reed Edwards, Sr. and the late Dorothy Neace Edwards. Carl was an operator with the South Point Ethanol Plant. He was a veteran serving in Vietnam in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Ceredo Christian Baptist Church, member of the American Legion Post 93, Ceredo VFW 8429 and the DAV in Kenova. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Stender; brother Daniel Lynn Edwards and one grandson Tanner Reed Edwards. Survivors include his beloved wife Kathy Brewer Edwards; three sons and daughter’s-in-law Carl Edwards, III (Marsha), Brian Edwards (Wanda) and Matthew Edwards (Ivy); one sister and brother-in-law Linda McCloud (Pearley), 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his church family and a host of friends.
