Judy was born September 26, 1945 in Huntington, WV. a daughter of the late Albert Dow and Dorothy McCloud Thompson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elza Lee Snyder and a sister Freda Arrowood. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Alberta “Toodie” Gue (Greg); two sons and a daughter-in-law Tom “Goose” Snyder (Lori Mayhon) and Zeek Snyder (Leann); 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Marion Franklin Curnutte, 78, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Heritage Center. Frank was born September 2, 1944 in Huntington, WV. a son of the late Harry Benson and Doris Hatten Curnutte. He was a retired school teacher and coach. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jeanette Straley Curnutte and a son Marion Franklin “Fritz” Curnutte, II. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law David Curnutte (Stephanie); daughter Jamie Curnutte; grandchildren Andrew Crunutte, Justin Curnutte, Ashley Curnutte, Tristan Curnutte and Brielle Curnutte and Gina Gibbs. Claudia was born August 1, 1952 in Ashland, Ky. a daughter of the late James and Beatrice Thompson Prince. She was a former retired RN with King’s Daughters Medical Center having worked in numerous departments. Jeremy Billy Dale Mathis, 44, formerly of Huntington, WV. passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Concord Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg, Ohio after a long illness. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 7, 2022 at Maple Hill Cemetery with Minister Chris Stevens officiating. Jeremy was born March 21, 1978 in Huntington, WV. a son Billy D. Mathis and the late Barbara Welsh. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by two brothers Joel and Shane Mathis; paternal grandfather Billy E. Mathis, maternal grandmother Jane Lambert and cousin Brandon Frasher. He is survived by his son Max Mathis; father Billy D. Mathis (Jen); a special aunt and uncle Sharon and Edward Ison; paternal grandmother Margaret Mathis (Chester); uncle David B. Carl Reed Edwards, Jr., 74, of Huntington, WV. passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at his home. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the Ceredo Christian Baptist Church with Minister Phillip Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow in the Ceredo Crescent Hill Cemetery. Carl was born May 22, 1948 in Kenova, WV. a son of the late Carl Reed Edwards, Sr. and the late Dorothy Neace Edwards. Carl was an operator with the South Point Ethanol Plant. He was a veteran serving in Vietnam in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Ceredo Christian Baptist Church, member of the American Legion Post 93, Ceredo VFW 8429 and the DAV in Kenova. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Brenda Stender; brother Daniel Lynn Edwards and one grandson Tanner Reed Edwards. Our beloved Sonya Leigh Mayo Joseph, 50, of Ashland, KY went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 13, 2022 at King’s Daughters Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 5:00 P.M. Sunday, October 16, 2022 with Pastor Jay Ross officiating. Interment in the Mayo Family Cemetery will take place at a later date. Sonya was born November 8, 1971 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of Charles Edward and Dianna Lynn Massie Mayo. She was a graduate of Buffalo High School and was a former nurse at the Kingsbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Sonya loved spending time with her son Levi and family. She loved caring for her elderly patients, crafting, sewing, and cooking new recipes. While we are heartbroken that Sonya is no longer with us, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is in heaven. She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Harold “Boots” Massie and paternal grandparents Charles Edward Mayo, Sr. and Alva Fairchild Mayo. Thelma was born May 25, 1932 to the late Elba and Lola Lucas. She was a retired secretary from Vinson High School and was a member of the Loudon United Methodist Church in Loudon, TN. and a former member of the Ceredo United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard Dyrl “Dick” Vass; four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her two sons Keith Malcolm Vass (Debbie) and Kevin Joe Vass (Jami); one daughter Teresa Ann Boehle (Rick); two grandchildren Christopher Boehle (Amanda) and Katy Deliou (Pierre) and five great-grandchildren Marshall, Ellie, Owen, Valerie and Alexandre; two sisters Alma Workman (Arg); Opal Holman (Jim); two sister’s-in-law Joan Lucas and Betty Lucas and host of nieces and nephews.
