Ron Wilson, 65, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 9, 2022 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Pastor Scott Byard officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Ron was born April 19, 1957 in Huntington a son of Jessie L. Bunyan and the late R. F. “Bob” Wilson. He was a graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School Class of 1975 and was retired from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #521. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Timbo Wilson. In addition to his mother survivors include two sons Ronnie Wilson and Scottie Wilson; nephew Kris Wilson and grandchildren Jessie Wilson, Kaylee Wilson, Lexie Wilson and Ronnie Wilson, III. Eva Maxine Bean
EVA MAXINE BEAN was born April 14, 1929, in Wayne County, W.Va. She was the 7th and youngest child of the late Henry and Nellie Frasher Bean of Prichard, W.Va. Eva passed away Monday, April 25, 2022, at the Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wayne, W.Va. She was preceded in death by siblings Bernice Bean Maynard, Harold Bean, Wm “Billie” Bean, Dorothy Bean Hooser, Hattie Bean and John Bean. She leaves behind her only daughter, Linda K. Green and one granddaughter, Julie D. Green, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Her services will be held at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Zach Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Bean Cemetery on Centerville Road in Prichard, W.Va. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. James Dirk Blevins,50, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Friday, April 22, 2022. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Minister Chris Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Dirk was born May 8, 1971 in Huntington, W.Va. a son of Patsy Neace Blevins and the late Wilburn Darrell Blevins. He was a graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School and a Courier for Valley Health Systems, Inc. Dirk was an avid guitarist. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Emma Mae Plymale. Jan Eugene Endicott,86, of Kenova, W.Va. finished his course, Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Pastor Dan Priest officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with the American Legion Post 93 conducting military rites. Jan was born August 9, 1935 in Louisa, Ky. a son of the late Lawrence and Mildred Atkins Endicott. He was a retired surgical tech from Cabell-Huntington Hospital and was a proud veteran having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his precious daughter Misty Dawn Endicott and a brother Lawrence “Larry” Endicott. Tanner Cole Ekers, 28, of Kenova passed away, Thursday, April 14, 2022. Funeral service will be conducted 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Tanner was born June 18, 1993 in Huntington a son of Robert Conn and Robin McKeand Ekers. Tanner was a drywall finisher for Greg Wallace Construction. He was preceded in death by a special uncle Roger McKeand. In addition to his parents he is survived by his four children, who meant the world to him, MaKenna Kalae, Adrian Christine, Maddie June and Gaenns Cole; two sisters Crystal Rowe (Chuck) and Jessi Ekers (Annie); niece Brylee and nephews Skyler and Bryson. He is also survived by a special nana June Davis (John); special aunt and uncle Rhonda Cook (Barry); special cousins Lexi and Alli and two special life long friends who were more like brothers Sean Smith and James Smith. Michael Jerome Boshell
Michael Jerome Boshell, 74, of Ceredo, W.Va. beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and child of God, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his home. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022 at Docks Creek Cemetery with Rev. Randy Maynard officiating. The family requests you honor Mike’s wishes and dress casually for his service. MIke was born August, 6, 1947 in Kopperstone, W.Va. to Willis Jerome and Geraldine Manning Boshell. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Mike was a member of American Legion Post #93 Kenova whose Honor Guard will conduct military rites. He worked for Armco Steel where he was a shear man. Mike loved the Lord and was a member of Kenova United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the Chancel Choir. He was a talented artist and enjoyed helping with making backdrops and painting characters for the annual VBS programs. You could always find him serving on various committees and working on projects and programs around his church. Mike loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his sons and grandchildren. He was very proud of his grandchildren and would gladly talk to you about any and all of their activities. He also liked antique cars. He married the love of his life, Linda Kay Billups Boshell who will miss him always. They also shared time with a large extended family. Mike was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael David “Mic” Boshell, his wife Kristi of Kenova, W.Va. and Dr. Bill Hunter Boshell, his wife Amy of Cincinnati, Ohio; his adored grandchildren, Gavin Michael and Mikayla Jordan Boshell of Kenova and Hunter Grace Boshell of Cincinnati; and brothers, Jay Boshell and Mark Boshell. He is also survived by his chosen sister, Sharon Sparks and special friends, Aaron Christian, Stanley Woods, and John Turner. Mike never met a stranger and he will be greatly missed by his family, church family and friends. Lowell “Big Dad” Bowen, 78, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Lowell was born January 24, 1944 in Job, Ky. a son of the late Everett and Virgie Bowen. Lowell was a former employee of the Hamer Lumber Company. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Steve Bowen; grandson Troy Bowen; two brothers Vernon and Gary Bowen and his mother-in-law Ruby Norris. He leaves his beloved wife Jeannette Bowen; daughter Bonnie Lynn Adkins (Ronnie); son Brian Bowen (Barbara); two brothers Jay Bowen (Judy) and Lloyd Bowen (Eilenne) and four sisters Geneva Whitt, Emma Jean Branham, Bonnie Crum (Lawrence) and Janette Bowen (Ron). Barbara Ann Shingleton Riddle
Barbara Ann Shingleton Riddle, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Friday, April 8, 2022. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church of which she was a member. Interment will follow in Dock’s Creek Cemetery. Barbara was born January 16, 1934 in Ashland, Ky. a daughter of the late Donald and Jennie Shingleton. She was a 1952 graduate of Ashland High School and worked for the Ashland Telephone Company for five years. She married Lawrence D. Riddle in 1956. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Shingleton and three sisters and a brother-in-law Shirley Clark, Mary Lyons and Donna Tackett (Fred). She leaves her beloved husband Lawrence D. Riddle; two children Gregory Riddle (Leeann), Holly Kelley (James); one grandson Blaine Kelley and a brother-in-law Jerry Clark. She also leaves many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to a church or charity of your choice. Janice Mae Ross Blevins
Janice Mae Ross Blevins, 80, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Saturday, April 2nd at St. Mary’s Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:30pm Sunday, April 10th at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Pastor Zachary Johnson officiating. Janice was born December 23, 1941, in Kenova, W.Va., a daughter of the late Helen Pauline Cantrell Ross Helms and Taylor “T-Bones” Ross. After their divorce, Janice was raised by Taylor’s parents, William J. Ross, and Mary Elizabeth Frasher Ross and Taylor’s sister, Vicy Jane Ross who was more like a mother to her. They all preceded her in death. Janice was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy George Blevins, daughter Kimberly Ann Blevins, and a special cousin, Sandra Davis, who was more like a sister to her. Janice graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School and was a member of First Independent Missionary Baptist Church of Kenova. She delivered newspapers for the Herald Dispatch for many years and worked for WCCSO. Janice enjoyed cooking, making candy, sewing, and making crafts. She was very creative. She also enjoyed plants and growing flowers. Janice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cathy and Kendrick (Marc) Blevins, her beloved granddaughter
Kelsey Blevins, and her constant companion, her lovingly spoiled cat, Boy. Also surviving are sisters Sharon Spears (Lenny), Brenda Daniels (Ernie), Joyce Ekers (Walter), Vanessa “Neacie” Marks (Harry), Connie Poston (Tony), Debbie (Nelson) Roller, Bobby Dale Helms (Lora), Daryl Helms (Connie), Bernie Helms, Barron “Dutchie” Helms, Brian Helms (Cathy), several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Janice loved her family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed talking and visiting with them. She had faith in The Lord and although we miss her very much, we know she is in a better place. Walter Robert Sansom
Walter Robert Sansom, 92, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Larsen officiating. The Honor Guard of VFW Post 6878 of Proctorville, OH will conduct military graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Huntington. Walter was born on January 3, 1930 in Cabell County, WV to J.D. Sansom and Jennie E. Williams Sansom. He attended Barboursville High School. He was a graduate of Huntington Business School majoring in accounting. He was awarded a diploma from Bob Dale Institute of Personal Development. He was a member of the U.S. Navy where he served a total of six years, six months, and eighteen days both active and inactive duty. Walter was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He served as a radioman-Morris Code on the U.S.S. Hanson and the U.S.S. Keppler. He was awarded a campaign ribbon or medal, Navy Occupation Medal of Occupation-Europe. During the Korean Conflict he was stationed in the U.S. Naval Training Station at Newport, Rhode Island, as a Personnel Man Third Rank. Walter was a graduate of Federal Aviation Agency of Huntington Airport, Inc. as a private pilot. He became the Commander of the Huntington Civil Air Patrol Unit for several years. Walter joined Chapman Printing Co. in May of 1969 serving as an estimator and customer service representative. He came from Standard Printing Company where he worked for 13 years. In his 31 years with Chapman Printing and later Champion Industries he served in the capacity of estimator, customer service, and binding and production supervisor. Later he served as Marshall Reynolds agent performing onsite evaluations of plants being pursued for acquisition. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed dancing with the clogging group, The Yellow Rockers and Paw Taws Round and Square Dance Clubs. Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Wilma Jean Hill; four sisters; one brother and grandson, Nicholas McClanahan. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Marion Hatten Sansom; daughter, Brenda (Stephen) McClanahan of South Point, OH; granddaughter, Adrienne Gillette and great grandchildren, Marleigh, Mirabel and Renik Gillette of South Point. Additional survivors are his stepchildren, Shaun (Deborah) Dean of Lavalette, WV and the families of their children, Jacob (Angie) Dean, Luke (Stephanie) Dean and Randie (Javey) Vance. His stepdaughter, Jinah (Robert) Cook of Scott Depot, WV and their sons, Tyler and Ryan Cook. He is also survived by several cousins and very special friends, Larry Moore, Josh Wyner, Norman and Fern Allred, Jim Thornton and Juanita Meadows. The family wishes to thank Dr. A. Butt, the nursing staff of Telemetry II unit at St. Mary’s and the Wyngate at Barboursville, WV for their loving care. Pallbearers will be Doug Vance, Don Browning, Mark Cole, Scott Prichard, Greg Adkins and Larry Moore who were all co-workers with Walter at Chapman Printing. Visitation will be two hours before the service, 11:00 to 1:00 at Rollins Funeral Home. The family requests you observe CDC guidelines and wear a mask and observe social distancing. Flowers would be accepted and appreciated or you may contribute to the food pantry at New Baptist Church in Huntington where Walter volunteered his time.
