Margaret (Margie) Lou O’Brien Wintz Olmstead, 84, of Ceredo, WV passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Margie was born July 17, 1938 in Mason County to Patrick Joeseph O’Brien and Lizzie Waugh O’Brien. She attended Barboursville High School and was a past Cabell County Committee Woman. Margie was a true West Virginian and loved her state. She was a member of Teamsters Union 1199 and she worked at Presbyterian Manor as a dietician. She also loved her flowers and enjoyed working in them. She was a member of Kenova United Methodist Church. Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Oscar Junior Wintz and Frank Olmstead; a granddaughter,Christal Gayle Gibson; a sister, Bonnie Chapman; two brothers, Pat O’Brien and Mike O’Brien and one son-in-law, Gerald Spence. Margie is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathy Spence, Cheryl (Michael) Shaw and Robin (Scott) Bailey; three sons and daughters-in-law, Eric (Tammy) Wintz, Scott (Shanna) Wintz and Chris (Cheryl) Wintz; grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew Spence, Valerie Sanns, Steven Parker, Todd and Ira “Bubba” Scarberry, Nicholas and Kristyn Wintz, Felix Wintz, Rihanna Wintz and Brittany and Levi Wintz; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and close friends, Sheila Wheeler and Linda Duty. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff and owners of Giovannis in Westmoreland; to St. Mary’s Medical Center and staff; the doctors and staff of Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House and Dr. Eugenia Jarrell. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Carolyn Sue Nester, 87, of Kenova, WV., passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Community Hospice Care Center. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Leach officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Carolyn was born November 3, 1935 in Norton, VA. a daughter of the late Elijah Herbert and Lena Swanson Clay. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Douglas Ray Nester; one sister Sondra Hewlett; three brothers George Roland Clay, Henry Reginald Clay and Darrell Taylor Clay and a precious granddaughter Lauren Nester. She is survived by her five children and their spouses Michael Ray Nester (Carla), Steven Douglas Nester (Sera), Valinda Sue Imes (William), Reginald Allen Nester (Cindy) and Lisa Gayle Maynard (Jimmie); two brothers and a sister -in-law Ralph Denny Clay (Barbara) and Larry Brooks Clay; sister-in-law Linda Clay; nine adorable grandchildren Megan, John, Micah, Nathan, Andrea, Samantha, Doug, Sacha and Jessica and seventeen great-grandchildren, each of whom thought they were number one. Mary Margaret Hodge, 85, of Newark, OH went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Hearth Brook assisted living facility, after a brief illness. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV. with Pastor John McSweeny officiating.

Mary was born April 10, 1938, in Ashland, KY, daughter of the late Robert C. & Nellie A. McKeand Bocook. After high school, she worked at Ashland Oil, and during that time, she would meet the love of her life, Joe Hodge, at the Dreamland swimming pool in Kenova, WV. They would marry on June 26, 1959, and would remain married for 56 years until Joe went to be with the Lord September 2, 2015. Mary was a woman of faith. She grew up singing in the church choir and playing piano at Second Baptist Church, Ashland KY.

Mary, or ‘Margie’ to her family, made an indelible impression on staff and residents who were her friends at Hearth Brook assisted living, where she lived her last five and a half years. She was a friend to all, and a confidant to many. In her younger days, she was known to all as a sharp and sophisticated dresser, and everyone knew Margie would have her hair done and her make-up was always perfect. Happiness was spending time with her husband and son, and in her later years spending time with her son and future daughter-in-law. She loved watching sports (especially The Ohio State Buckeyes), singing, reading her bible, watching soap operas and court tv. She adored her son, and they shared a very special bond.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Hodge, brothers Robert C. Bocook Jr., Jack B Bocook, and sister, Virginia L Sproule.

Surviving is her loving son Brian A. Hodge, and future daughter-in-law, Tina N. Brenner, and many nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends.

Shelia Joyce Russell (Carder), 74, of Ceredo Kenova, WV. passed away on April 17, 2023. She was a resident of Heritage Nursing Home in Huntington. Sheila was born on January 24th, 1949 in Huntington, WV. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Decker Russell, Lavalette, WV. and her daughter Rachel Louise Carder of Ceredo, WV; her sisters Grace Beldt and Sharon Gibson. Survivors are her sister Ilene King of New Martinsburg, WV. and several nieces and nephews. Shelia was a long-time employee of Corbins in Westmoreland where she worked until she retired. Visitation for Sheila will be Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV. from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The Funeral Service for Sheila will begin at 2:30 immediately followed by a graveside burial at Ceredo Crescent Hill Cemetery in Ceredo, WV. Larry Kent Frazier, 58, of Huntington passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Larry was born February 20, 1965 in Columbus, OH. a son of the late Clyde and Opal Ramey Frazier. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Misty Chatfield Frazier; infant son Larry Paul Frazier, brother Norvis “Bud” Frazier and sister-in-law Barbara Googins Frazier. He is survived by one sister Phyllis Hardy; one brother and sister-in-law Richard “Rick” Frazier (Donna); two nieces Lisa Ann Ross Griffith (Charlie) and Heather Nicole Hall (Cody Abshier); one nephew Richard Brian Frazier (DD) one great-niece Amanda Brooke Griffith, four great-nephews Charley Ray Griffith, Richard Brian, Brandon Matthew and Braxton Cole Frazier and a very special friend Cindy Burris. Steven James Streets, 65, of Huntington, WV. passed away April 14, 2023 at his residence. Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Dock’s Creek Cemetery with Pastor Greg Page officiating. Steven was born July 26, 1957 in Huntington, WV. a son of Mary Sellards Streets and the late Howard David Streets. In addition to his, father he was preceded in death by a brother David Keith Streets. Phillip Edward Agee, Jr., 75, of Las Vegas, NV. formerly of Huntington, WV., passed away February 3, 2023 at his residence. Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Hillcrest Cemetery on Rt. 75 Kenova with Pastor James Caudill officiating. Phillip was born September 28, 1947 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina a son of the late Phillip Edward Agee, Sr. and the late Geneva Lewis Agee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Karen Gene Cremeans (Christopher). He is survived by one brother and sister-in -law W. Jennie LeVere VanHoose Agee, 73, of Las Vegas, NV. formerly of Kenova, WV., passed away February 3, 2023 at her residence. Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Hillcrest Cemetery on Rt. 75 Kenova with Pastor James Caudill officiating. Jennie was born May 26, 1949 in Huntington, WV. a daughter of the late Everette and Faye Arrowood VanHoose. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Carol VanHoose Billups and a brother Howard VanHoose . BARBARA CAROL HAYTON FORTNER, 75, of Prichard, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 31st, 2023, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born December 17th, 1947, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert and Rosalie Jarrell Hayton. In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by her sister Linda Sue Hayton Christian and her granddaughter Maggie Elizabeth Rose Wellman. She was a member of First Independent Missionary Baptist Church of Kenova where she was also a Sunday School teacher. Barbara was best known for her love of spending time laughing and making memories with her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband Elmer Fortner of Prichard, WV; one loving daughter Renee (Brian) Wellman of Kenova, WV; one step-daughter Tammy (Richard) Smith of Huntington, WV; two step-sons Shawn (Tina) Fortner of Kenova, WV., Chris Fortner of Kenova, WV; seven grandchildren Zach (Meredith) Wellman, Elijah (Erin) Wellman, Sophie Wellman, Caitlin Smith-Trautwein, Kelsey (Jeremy) Spears, Elisabeth Fortner, Morgan (Jeremy) Cochenour; one aunt, Donna Plummer; one niece, Missy (Matt) Workman and a host of great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving neighbors John and Beth Workman, along with Bill McCallister Jr., and her lifelong friend Sue Adkins. Pallbearers will be Zach Wellman, Elijah Wellman, Shawn Fortner, Richard Smith, Chris Fortner and John Workman. The family will receive friends on Monday April 3rd from noon to 1 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. with pastor Scott Byard officiating. Burial will follow in Bean Cemetery, Prichard, W.Va. Her presence here on earth will be deeply missed, but her memory will remain with us all forever. We take comfort in knowing that she rests comfortably in the arms of the Lord.

GLORIA ANN CHARLOTTE McQUINN FISHER LOONEY, 92, of Ceredo, WV., passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Dock’s Creek Cemetery with Pastor Scott Byard officiating. Gloria was born September 5, 1930 in Kenova, WV. a daughter of the late Bernard Downing and Carrie Pearl Chadwick McQuinn. She was a proud member of the C-K Alumni Band, graduate of Vinson High School Class of 48 where her father was her principal and band director. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons Kenneth Howard Fisher, III, Kevin Howard Fisher and two sisters Jill Dolin and Hazel Billups. She is survived by two sons Kirk Fisher and Kent Fisher; two daughters Karen Webb (Greg) and Kim Fisher (Geno); step-son Skip Looney (Jonnean); 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
