George “Nick” Kiser, 91, of Kenova, W.Va. passed Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 5, 2021 at the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with Pastor Willie May and Pastor Jody Fortner officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Nick was born February 10, 1930 in Hubball, W.Va. a son of the late George and May Pellman Kiser. He was retired from Columbia Gas where he was employed for 40 years. Nick loved to fish and never met a lake he didn’t enjoy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Edna Faye Kiser; son Melvin Dewayne Kiser; grandson Michael Dewayne Kiser; four brothers Willis, Harold, Doug and Billy Kiser; two sisters Joanette Hoover and Jennifer White and four sisters-in-law Maddie, Loretta, Lorene and Judy Kiser and a baby sister Mary Kiser. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law Shelia Tomblin (Tom); grandchildren Chris Tomblin (Cara), Stephanie Bell (Greg), Jessica Frye (Shannon), Courtney McLean (Scott) and Greg Kiser (Laura); great-grandchildren Nicholas, Mia, Hunter, Cora, Desmond and Baby McLean; daughter-in-law Donna Kiser; sister Ann Tabor (Dennis); brothers Jerry, Johnny and Marshall Kiser; brothers-in-law Terry White, Ed Burns (Shelia) and Bob Burns (Della); sisters-in-law Ann Kiser and Joann Kiser; special friends Willie May and Brenda Thacker and several nieces and nephews. Theodosia H. Eddy “Dosia”, 90, of Barboursville, W.Va. passed Wednesday, June 23, 2021. She was born June 8, 1931 in Craig County, VA. a daughter of the late Hobert and Alma Patton Maynor. She was also preceded in death by her husband E. Blaine Eddy of almost 60 years; a son Jack and brothers Robert and Max Maynor. Survivors include her son Blaine Eddy (Gloria), daughters Sara Bosley and Nancy Bates (Joe); grandchildren Jackie Morning (Chris), Amanda Cremeans (Anthony), Meghan Bosley (Jason Walsh), Jennifer Eddy (Carl Ward); five great-grandchildren and one brother Dean Maynor and two sisters Sandra Riner and Cuba Flory. She was a long time member of the Kenova United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation and a private family service. John Roy Hamilton (J.R.), 81, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away peacefully in Temple, TX. Thursday, June 17, 2021. He was born May 18, 1940 in Wayne County, W.Va. son of the late Thomas and Louise (Holland) Hamilton. He was a 1958 graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School. He was a member of Laborer’s International Union of North American, 543 Local Union, since 1966. His membership in the Buena Vista Lodge #60, in Prichard, W.Va. served as a guide and source of spiritual strength throughout his adult life. In 1965, John Roy married Verna Davis who preceded him in death in January of 2002. John Roy is survived by his son, John Timothy Hamilton, and Jaryn Hamilton, his grandson, of Kenova, W.Va.; Stephanie Hamilton, his daughter, Kevin Rapczynski, his-son-in-law, and Tiffany Hamilton Rapczynski, his granddaughter, of Belton, TX. and Barbara Lloyd, his youngest sister of Ceredo, W.Va. John Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald Hamilton and his sister Sue Ann Fedczak. John Roy loved fishing and enjoyed sports throughout his life. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va., followed by a graveside service at 10:30 A.M. at the Riggs Family Cemetery off of Bridge Branch Road in Prichard, W.Va. JOHN ALLEN HOLLAND, 77 of Ceredo, W.Va., closed his eyes in this world and his faith has become sight, as he is now with Jesus, on June 15, 2021, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was a beloved Husband, Daddy, PawPaw, Uncle and Friend.

Visitation will be Friday, June 18, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Brother Rick Wellman officiating. A private burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

John was born December 17, 1943, in Kenova, a son of the late Grace Roten Holland and Roy Holland Jr. He was also preceded in death by his uncle John Roten who had helped raise him and his bubby Bob Holland.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean Medley Holland; three daughters, Valerie Holland of Kenova, Tammie (Darren) Perdue of Saudi Arabia and Teresa (Ed) Stephens of Wayne; two grandchildren, Caroline Grace Perdue of Columbia, S.C., and Casey Perdue of Seattle, Wash. John is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandra “Cookie” Evans and her husband Bo of Kenova; his niece Rhonda (Jeff) Mannon of Huntington; his nephew JT (Pam) Holland of Lavalette; great-nieces Jaci Mannon, Jordan (Travis) Nash and Lauren Holland; greatnephew Dylan Holland; great- great-nephews Evan, Liam and Cashtyn; greatgreat-niece Charley and his special friends, Dave and Sue Straley of Florida.

John was a member of the Church of Christ in Chesapeake, Ohio, where he was a minister and led numerous lives to the Lord. He was a graduate of CeredoKenova High School, Class of 1961. He retired from Chandler’s in 2005, working there more than 40 years. He was a member of the Kenova Masonic Lodge #110 AF&AM, whose members will conduct graveside rites. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Beni Kedem Shriners, Royal Arch Masons and Knights Templar.

Anyone that had a chance to meet John will say that he never met a stranger, had a love for his Lord, family, friends and his laughter was infectious. Johnny leaves behind a host of family and friends, all of whom will miss him.

Linda Carroll Coffee, 76, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Charles Franklin Dishman, 52, left this world on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. CFD was the son of the late William Franklin Dishman and the late Patricia Hannon. He is survived by two cousins Becky Carver and Kathy Smith both of Boyd Co., Ky. CFD was full of life and always made a presence wherever he was and he never met a stranger. His love for sports was overwhelming as he loved the CK Wonders, Cincinnati Red, UK Wildcats and the Marshall Thundering Herd. His love for his community was well known throughout as he volunteered with the annual spaghetti dinner at the CK Community Center where he holds the record for the most tickets sold for the dinner. Emma Sue Salmons Howard, 79 of Kenova, W.Va. passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Genesis Health Care in South Charleston, W.Va. Sue was born March 28, 1942, a daughter of the late Albert J. & Margaret Music Salmons. She was employed as a glass packer at Owens Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford David Howard; son, Timothy David Howard; brothers, Clyde and Jim Salmons. She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Watts; two sons, Clifford (Kathy) Howard, and Gregory Howard. Grandchildren: Christopher (Karrisa) Howard, Jennifer (Andrew) May, and Cory Watts; several great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Lockhart; brother, Carl (Phyllis) Salmons. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Eddie Albert Dent, 51, of Prichard, W.Va. passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 11, 2021 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Wayne, W.Va. Eddie was born September 15, 1969 in Louisa, Ky.  son of Sharon Robertson Dent Smith and the late Eddie Dean Dent. He graduated from Fort Gay High School in 1987 and worked out of the labor union 1445. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents Dotsie and Albert Junior Robertson and Polly Ann and Harry Dent and stepfather Homer Smith. Survivors include his beloved wife April D. McCray Dent; four children Jacob Dent, Tyler Dent, Cassey Flora (Derick) and Kyle Adkins; sister Laura Dent; brother Jason Dent; grandchidlren Drake Watts and Kinleigh Watts and their father Levi Watts; special aunt Alberta Robertson and many other loving and cherished family members. Carole S. Brown Hayner Adkins, 79, of Ceredo, WVa. went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Funeral service will be conducted at noon Monday, June 7, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Ceredo, of which she was a member, with Pastor Jeff Canterbury officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Carole was born April 27, 1942 in Cyrus, W.Va. daughter of the late Henry B. and Myrtle A. Pyles Brown. She graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 1960 and retired from the Tennessee Baptist Convention and then worked several years for the First Baptist Church of Ceredo.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands James Hayner and Otis Adkins; brothers Buddy, Edward and Bobby Brown; twin sister Linda Brown Graham and grandson Chase Adkins. Survivors include one brother Johnny Mack Brown (Diana); two sons James Michael Hayner and Timothy Scott Hayner (Jessica) and two step-sons James A. Adkins (Gail) and Oscar S. Adkins (Tammy). She is also survived by grndsons Case Hayner, Christopher Adkins, Brandon Harmon; granddaughters Madison Ledsinger, Taylor Creighton, Kayla Osborne (Chris), Taylor Lowe and Ashlee Adkins; one sister-in-law Linda Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
