Frederick Leonard “Rick” Schoew, III, 80, of Huntington, WV, passed away at Hospice House of Huntington on August 18, 2026, following an extended illness. He is survived by his beloved family, including his wife of 51 years, Annette Schoew; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nikki and Kenny Webster of Huntington, and Julie and Chris Pence of Charleston; grandchildren Braxton Webster and wife, Ashley Webster, of Charleston; Katherine Pence and Caroline Pence of Charleston; brothers and sisters-in-law Peter and Betty Schoew of Castle Pines, CO, and Steve and Cindy Schoew of Bradenton, FL; first cousin, Tina Norvell Brandenburg, of Myrtle Beach, SC; niece Amy Simpson (Gary) of Fort Worth, TX; and nephew John Schoew (Maria) of Littleton, CO.
Rick was born on May 28, 1946, to the late Fred and Lou Addie Schoew, both previously of Huntington. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1964. Rick worked for nearly 33 years at J.H. Fletcher & Co., prior to his retirement. Rick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as with his dog, Toby. He loved saltwater fishing at the Outer Banks and clay sport shooting.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at Creekside Golf Course Restaurant on September 20, 2026. A memorial hour will begin at 5 p.m., and the celebration will begin at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice House of Huntington.
