William “Bill” L. Hall

William “Bill” L. Hall, 72, husband of Lillie Elliott Hall of Ceredo, W.Va. passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Bill was born in Bluefield W.Va. to parents, Glenn W. And Nancy Ferguson Hall. The family moved to the Ceredo-Kenova area where Bill graduated from C-K High School. After graduation, Bill attended Marshall University receiving his bachelor degree in Accounting. He began his professional career with Somerville & Company. Later he and his brother began Hall and Hall; then he moved forward to Ware & Hall and finally finishing out his years as a CPA with Hess, Stewart & Campbell. He had been a CPA for 50 years or as he liked to say, he’d been through 49 tax seasons. Bill was proud to have been an Eagle Scout, he loved music and enjoyed many years playing saxophone with the C-K Alumni Band. Bill also had a life long passion for railroads, owned two classic cars and was a member of the West Virginia British Car Club. He loved the mountains and spending time near the Greenbrier River. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church where he had served on several committees, the church council and was an member of the Agape Sunday School Class. He was married to the love of his life, Lillie Hall and was proud of his two children his son, William “Will” D. Hall and his wife, Tiffany; his daughter, Melissa A. Hall; his beloved grandchildren, Jordin, Isabella and Ava Michels; his sister-in-law, Sandra Hall and her daughter, Amy and her son, Dylan Cowan; and many cousins and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, G. Thomas Hall. Bill would help anyone he could, was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m with Rev. Zach Bays officiating and burial will follow in Ceredo Crescent Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stepping Stones Inc. P. O. Box 539, Lavalette, WV 25535.
