Billy D. Price
 Billy D. Price was born December 11, 1932. He went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2023, at the age of 90, after an extended battle with illness. He resided at Woodlands Retirement Community, Huntington WV, and at the time of his passing was under the wonderful care of Hospice of Huntington. The staff at Woodlands was fond of Billy and remember him as a friendly resident who always greeted them with a smile and a friendly word. He spent his childhood working for his maternal grandfather on a farm located at Barger Hill, Kenova, WV. He performed his military duty in the U.S. Army from 1957-1963 and was employed by Oliver Elam Construction in his 20’s. Thereafter, he quickly climbed the corporate ladder with Union Boiler Construction Company of Nitro, WV, becoming executive vice-president and held that position for 33 years. He was president of Cardinal Construction Company for seven years. He retired from construction work and worked for The Greater Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, South Point, OH, until he entered full retirement. He will be remembered for doing volunteer construction work on churches, donating regularly to Boys Town, the Mayo Clinic nonprofit, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Association, Salvation Army, and Shriners Hospital for Children. He was predeceased by his father, Roy Price of Miller, OH, and his mother, Merle Werlein of Kenova, WV, his oldest son David Ray Price, and his granddaughter Alicia Maria Livingston Saul. Billy is survived by his wife of 32 years, Priscilla Darlene (Stone) Price of Kenova, WV, and his six children by a former marriage, Deborah J. McClure of South Point, OH, Daniel F. Price (Rebecca Price) of South Point, OH, Dodavah L. Price of South Point, OH, Darrell D. Price (Willa Price) of Proctorville, OH, Delynn A. Price (Anita Price) of Raceland, KY, and Douglas N. Price (Catherine Price) of Wheelersburg, OH. He leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He will be interred at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar, WV, with a military ceremony on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Greg Tomlinson of Jefferson Avenue Church of God officiating. William Russell “Russ” Duty
 William Russell “Russ” Duty, husband, father, brother and friend passed away January 15, 2023 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Russ was born December 1, 1952 a son of the late William Earl and Joyce Wallin Duty. He grew up in Kenova and was a graduate of C-K High School Class of 1971. He married the love of his life, Linda Haynie Duty and together they raised their beloved son, William Christopher Duty, to whom they are devoted parents. Russ was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and Linda also enjoyed shooting muzzleloaders and the story goes that Linda was the better shot. Russ and Christopher also liked to golf together whenever they had the chance. He was a good coworker and friend but you had to keep your eyes open when he was around because he was a superb practical joker. Russ loved trying to catch his friends in a prank. His smile and laughter could make everyone caught in his joke feel good. He retired from Braskem Chemical where he worked as an instrument technician for many years. Russ was a member of Kenova Masonic Lodge #110 AF & AM. He was also involved in the Huntington Scottish Rite and the Ashland Shriners. In addition to his wife and son other survivors include two brothers, David and Mark Duty; a sister, Sue Midkiff; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Tiny Hatten. Over the years Linda and Russ owned several Airedale’s and Russ especially loved Ezekiel Malachi who is shown with him in the picture above.  Montie Rull Adkins, 72, passed away on January 3, 2023. He was born December 20, 1950 a son of the late Robert and Dorothy Adkins. In addition to his parents’ he was preceded in death by sisters Deanna Adkins, sister Dianna Adkins, brother Charles Adkins, brother Gene Adkins, sister Andria McSorley, brother Don Adkins and sister Carolyn Rickman.
Montie Rull Adkins, 72, passed away on January 3, 2023. He was born December 20, 1950 a son of the late Robert and Dorothy Adkins. In addition to his parents’ he was preceded in death by sisters Deanna Adkins, sister Dianna Adkins, brother Charles Adkins, brother Gene Adkins, sister Andria McSorley, brother Don Adkins and sister Carolyn Rickman.
He was a dedicated employee for the town of Ceredo, WV for over 30 years. Montie was a well respected member of the community, a beloved father and dear friend who will be truly missed.
He is survived by his former wife Connie Adkins, son Montie Adkins, daughter Christie (Chris) Taipale, grandchildren Patrick Rowe and Mason Taipale, brother Walt Adkins, sister Debbie (Ben) Short, brother Arnold (Barb) Adkins, brother Robert Adkins, sister Tammy Murphy, sister Cathie (Dave) Schumaker, brother Lonnie (Cynthia) Adkins, Sister Darline Adkins, girlfriend Anna and stepdaughter Kyleigh.

Patricia Joyce Houchin Cornwell
 Patricia Joyce Houchin Cornwell, 85, of Kenova, W.Va. widow of Robert “Tootles” Cornwell passed away Thursday, Januar 5, 2023 at her home. She was born April 10, 1937 in Ceredo, a daughter of the late, Vernon St. Elmo and Gladys Stewart Houchin. She was a graduate of C-K High School and later was a nurse at Huntington Hospital for many years. Pat leaves behind her four children, Dwayne (Diana) Cornwell of Proctorville, OH, Tim (Colleen) Cornwell, Steve (Elaine) Cornwell and Stephanie (Richard) Elkins all of Kenova, W. Va. Also surviving are her grandchildren, who called her Granny Pat, Brandon, Ashlee, Blayne, Eann, Timmy (Trish), Emmanuel, Brittany (Becka), and Nick (Allie); great grandchildren, Garrett, Madeline, Emelia, Jayla, Bryce, Evy, Barrett, Berkley and Mylah; and one brother, Jack Houchin of North Carolina. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Houchin. Pat was an active member of Kenova United Methodist Church and was involved in many of the ministries of the church. She loved to cook and was part of the We Care Team, she liked quilting with the Busy Fingers quilting group, she sang in both the Chancel and Golden Chords Choirs, she enjoyed being part of the Mentor Program between KUMC and Kenova Elementary School and was a member of the Loyal Bible Sunday School Class. During the Fall Bazaar, we all enjoyed Pat’s famous apple dumplings. One of Pat’s many gifts was the gift of hospitality. Whenever she cooked for her own family she always made sure she also fed her widowed friends and anyone else who needed a hot meal. Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Kenova United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Andrew Tennant officiating.  Mark Edward Maddox ,63, of Wayne County, WV. passed away Sunday, January 2, 2023. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 P.M.
