Sheila Shannon, 70, of Barboursville, WV. passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Concord Health & Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg, OH. She was born February 27, 1951 in Huntington, W.Va. a daughter of the late Edgar Scott and Opal Florence Atkinson Boyer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Eddie and David Boyer and one sister Sandy Peppers. Survivors include her beloved husband James R. Shannon; two sons and a daughter-in-law Jim Shannon and Chris Shannon (Kathy); two sisters Patty Stilwell and Sue McCoy and two grandchildren Colin and Brendan Shannon. Graveside service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Maple Hill Cemetery 471 Dock’s Creek Cemetery Road Kenova, W.Va. 25530 with Pastor Matthew Christian officiating. Coniff, Julia A

Julia A Coniff, 82, of Huntington, WV, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Mary Underwood, her brother Chuck “Shorty” Underwood and husband, James Coniff. She is survived by her brother, Herb “Sonny” Underwood, 4 children, Wendy (Terry), Jennifer, Stan (Tina) and Robyn (Greg). She was Nana to 7 grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Mark, Matthew, Brooke (Nick), Preston and Connor, 11 great grandchildren, Leah, Cali, Anna, Macy, Eden, Brayden, Gavin, Nicholas, Ava Jerrika and Charlie and her beloved Shih Tzu, Dolly. Julie loved her family greatly and was loved greatly by them. She loved the color red, animals, puzzles, playing cards, watching football (especially Alabama) but she mostly loved spending time with her family. She will be missed immensely. There will be no public services at this time.

Pennington-Glassburn, Tammy L

Tammy Lynn Pennington Glassburn, 52, of Lancaster, OH, formerly of Huntington, W.Va. passed away at her home on Sunday, October 31, 2021. She attended Ceredo-Kenova High School and Marshall University. Tammy was employed with ODW Logistics in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Pennington; brother Rick Pennington and grandmother Thelma Ruth Gilliam. Tammy was an avid animal lover and a devoted caregiver to all animals. She will be laid to rest with her loving best friend, her dog Herschel. Survivors include her devoted husband of 23 years Johnny A. Glassburn; loving son Johnny Glassburn, Jr.; mother Terisha Pennington; sister Terisha Johnson (Chuck); mother-in-law Judy Harmon (Danny) and extended family members and friends. James T. Billups, 90, of Ceredo, passed peacefully to eternal life on Saturday, November 20, 2021. A lifelong resident of Ceredo, he was born September 25, 1931, the eldest son of the late Paul T. and Marie Workman Billups. In addition to his parents, Mr. Billups was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Patricia S. Billups, and siblings Helen Webb, Clyde Billups, and Bob Billups. Dorsey, Deborah K

Deborah Kathleen Dorsey, 70, of Ceredo, WV, went to be with her Lord after passing away Thursday, November 18th, 2021, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 21, 2021by Pastor Jeffery Canterbury at Rollins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Deborah was born on August 13th, 1951, in Cabell County to the late Harry Prince and Pearl Riley Prince. She was a good-natured and kindhearted soul who greatly loved and was equally loved by her family and community. She and her cute, lovable shih tzu, Sachi, enjoyed sitting on the porch on warm weather days greeting neighbors and passers-by. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dorsey, sister, Sharon Black and brother Bobby Prince. She is survived by her two sons Stephen and Justin Dorsey; three sisters Alma “Sis” Pyles, Barbara Devore, Marilyn (George) Black; two brothers Leslie (Charlotte) Prince, Dwight (Christie) Prince; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bartley, Michael R

Michael Ray Bartley was born in Greencastle, Indiana on a spring day May 1, 1952 to the late Kermit and JoAnn Bartley. He had a younger brother Donald Lee Bartley and a younger sister Barbara Jo Thomas who he loved with all his heart.

On July 3, 1971 he married the love of his life Margaret Jayne Bartley.

As those who knew him well, his presence was felt at all moments. His energy could brighten a room.

McGlone, Beatrice H. “Speck”

Beatrice Helen “Speck” Lyons McGlone, 83, of Kenova W.Va. beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born June 29, 1938 in Ceredo, W.Va. a daughter of the late William Francis and Anna Lee Kidd Lyons. Speck was from a large family of eight sisters whom she dearly loved. Growing up in Ceredo they attended local schools including Ceredo Kenova High School. She married the love of her life, Gene McGlone and together they had three daughters who survive her, Anna Gene Marsh, Teresa (Jimmy) Booth and Kelly (Guy) Marcum. She is also survived by two grandsons, Justin and Zach; five granddaughters, Arinn, Aimee, Anna, Jenny and Chanelle; 14 great grandchildren; four sisters, Jenny (Bill) Irvin, Angie Lockhart, Faith (Cecil) Wilks, and Hope (Doug) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McGlone, a grandson, Jason McGlone; a son-in-law, Stan Marsh and three sisters, Frances, Billye Jo and Penny. Family was her life, she loved being with her children, grandchildren and sisters. Her daughters valued her leadership, support, love and the time they spent together. Speck also loved her church family and had been a long time member of Ceredo Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and was a frequent visitor of the C-K Library where she will be missed. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Minister Matthew McBrayer and Elder Phillip Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours before the funeral on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the C-K Library, 1200 Oak St. Kenova. W.Va. Spry, Terry R “Topper”

Terry Ray “Topper” Spry,67, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday November 6, 2021 at England Hill Freewill Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with Pastor Willie May and Pastor Justin May officiating. Interment will follow in Cyrus Cemetery. He was born September 30, 1954 in Huntington, WV. a son of Donna Jean Staley Spry May and the late Warnie G. Spry. Topper was a graduate of Buffalo High School and a retired Supervisor from the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a member of the Buena Vista Masonic Lodge #60 AF & AM whose members will conduct graveside services. In addition to his father he was preceded by his step-father Ralph May; maternal-grandparents Herma and Ray Staley and paternal grand-parents Martha and Ira Spry. In addition to his precious mother he is survived by his beloved wife Ellen Elaine Dabney Spry; son Warren “Flattop” Spry (Maranda); daughter Paula Spry Moore (Joey); brother Warren “Bossy” Spry (Barbie); sisters Herma Lynn Davis (Bill) and Jean Robertson (Bill) and four grand children Madison Spence, Audrey Spry, Colton Moore and J.W. Spry. Topper leaves a host of friends and church family. Topper was loved by all and will be greatly missed. He was a friends, friend. Friends may call from noon – 2:00 P.M. Larry Wallace Bailey,80, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 in Grayson Caring Hands in Huntington. He was born February 5, 1941 in Huntington, WV. a son of the late Victor and Blanche Fishbach Bailey. Larry was a retired crane operate with the former Inco Alloys Company and a real estate agent.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Hester Ellen Nelson Bailey; granddaughter Christina Davis; three brothers Mike, John and Earl and two sisters Pauline and Susan. He is survived by two sons Bryan Bailey and Steve Bailey; grandchildren Evan Bailey, Elizabeth Washington (Kenny), Dakota Chambers and Kyle and Kristian Bailey; great-grandchildren Jett Bailey, Jackson Bailey, Ella Gray Washington and Little Izzy and one sister Eleanor Roach. Scott Allen Fry 40 of Wayne, WV passed away peacefully and received his crown, on October 29 2021. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova WV. Rev. John Fry will be officiating. Internment will follow in Spring Valley memory Gardens.  Scott was born January 5, 1981 in Huntington, WV son of Debbie Fry Howes (Tim Howes). He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents Elza Hurston Fry and Mary Carolyn Hatten Fry. He is survived by his mother, his sister Amber Howes, and brother Matthew Howes. He is also survived by his three uncles Mark Fry of Paris KY, Bryan Fry of Huntington WV, and John Fry of Lavalette WV, His Aunt Beverly Fry Hickman. His cousins, Brittany Hickman White, Logan Hickman, Sahara Fry, Derek Fry, and Drew Fry.
