Marsha Sue Riggs, 76, of Kenova, W.Va. was united with her Savior Sunday, September 26, 2021. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Byard and Pastor Matthew Christian officiating. Interment will follow in Dock’s Creek Cemetery. Marsha was born December 9, 1944, in Kenova, W.Va. a daughter of the late Andrew Wayne and Reba Ball Riggs. She was a graduate of C-K High School and was retired from the Tri-State Airport. Marsha was a member of 20th Street Baptist Church of Kenova where she was a faithful choir member. She loved spending time with family, hosting holiday gatherings, and was a long-time volunteer for the good Samaritan Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved sisters Wilda Milam and Elaine Craycraft; a brother-in-law Dale Craycraft and a great-niece Sarah Armstrong. Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law Bernard Riggs (Nancy); a brother-in-law Willie Milam; one niece, Lora Billups; three nephews, David Riggs (Tami), Steve Milam (Melissa), and Joe Milam (Beth); four great-nephews, Gabe Milam, Zach Milam, Cameron Armstrong and Andrew Riggs; three great-nieces, Emily Billups, Jenna Billups and Kathryn Riggs; one aunt, Katie McCallister; one uncle, Carlos Ball (Mary) and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova.  Donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Center in Marsha’s name. Carol S. Meredith, of Kenova, W.Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Kenova United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill DeMoss and Rev. Scott Byard officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. She was born December 11, 1941, in Kenova, W.Va., daughter of the late King Joseph and Lou Ella Thompson Hayton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Keith Meredith; two brothers, Arnold Chester Hayton and William Hayton, and two sisters-in-law, Barbara and Della Hayton; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo Hayton Arrowood (Sherman). Survivors include her beloved husband, Berlin Ray Meredith Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Berlin Meredith II (Kathy); grandsons, Keenan Joseph, Joshua Tyler and Champ Meredith; one brother, King Charles Hayton, and a sister-in-law, Libby Hayton; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Carver-Plymale, Wilma J

Wilma Jean Carver Plymale, 88, of Lexington, KY, passed away September 19, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Jean was born August 3, 1933 to the late Jack and Beulah Ball Carver of Ceredo, W.Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky A. Plymale; granddaughter, Katherine A. Plymale; sister, Julia Ann Mannon and brother, Billy Jack Carver. She was a graduate of Ceredo Kenova High School then she briefly attended Marshall University. Jean was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo. She did volunteer work at Cardinal Hill Hospital and was a former member of Daughters of The Nile. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Richard A. Plymale; daughter, Lisa J. (John) Jennings; granddaughter, Sarah E. (Matthew) Pank; grandson, Grant A. (Lauren) Leedy; great grandsons, Carver M. Pank, Cooper A. Pank and Kalen Finley; great granddaughter, Kamryn Finley along with a host of nieces and nephews. Jean will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 28, 2021 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va. with Elder Gary Blake officiating. Akers, Jr., Delbert

Delbert Akers, Junior, 90, of Prichard, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Byard officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with the American Legion Post 93 Honor Guard conducting military rites. He was born October 15, 1930 in Ceredo, W.Va. son of the late Delbert Akers, Sr. and the late Ida Pratt Akers. He was a former Clerk with the CSX Railroad. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 93 and the Prichard Volunteer Fire Department. Junior enjoyed working on cars and was a big NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed playing Bingo. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death his wife Rita Akers and two sisters Barbara Sloan and Evelyn Jeffers. Survivors include his fiancé’ Patty Ann Hutchinson; daughter Teresa Ward; son Terry Lee Aker; grandchildren Tonya, Mark, Josh and Robert; great-grandchildren Ashleigh, Logan, Hannah, Alexis and Anthony; great-great grandchildren Kynleigh and Addison. He is also survived by two sisters Betty Stoal and Linda Fouch and two brothers Charlie Akers (Yvonne) and Wallace T. Akers (Priscilla). BRIAN KEITH MEREDITH, 54, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in CabellHuntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Kenova United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill DeMoss and Rev. Scott Byard officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. He was born June 3, 1967, in Huntington, a son of Berlin Ray Meredith Sr. and Carol Sue Hayton Meredith. He worked for DECCO Services. He was a 1985 graduate of C-K High School. He loved his family and spending time with them and had a penchant to be able to fix anything. Brian was kind and would do anything to help anyone and will be deeply missed by family and friends. In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother and sister-in-law Berlin Meredith II (Kathy); nephews Keenan Joseph, Joshua Tyler and Champ Meredith and a host of relatives and friends. Ellis, Jack L

Jack L. Ellis, 86, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House with his loving family at his side.  Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Pastor Jeff Canterbury officiating. Interment with military graveside rites by the American Legion Post 93 will be conducted following the service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Jack was born September 6, 1935 in Huntington, W.Va. son of the late Raymond Ellis and late Katherine Runyan. He was retired from the IBEW Local 317 in Huntington as an electrician. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo and the American Legion Post 93. Jack served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict and was active in the Marine Corp League in Huntington. He coached Little League baseball at League One and was very active with the Vinson High School Athletic Boosters. Jack celebrated at one time as the YMCA Marble Champion. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Raymond “Pete” Ellis. Survivors include his wife of 28 years Joyce Ellis; two sons Barry Ellis (Jackie) and Jason Ellis and daughter Bridgette Moore (Larry); stepson Billy Barrett (Tina); grandson Jeremy Ellis (Robin); granddaughters Aimee Harrah (Todd), Autumn Ellis, Olivia Barrett and Leigha Barrett. Thomas Lee “Gizmo” Rickman 48, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at CAMC Teays Valley Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 P.M. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Rollins Funeral Home with Rev. Mic Browning officiating. He was born December 3, 1972 in Huntington, W.Va. son of the late Thomas Lester and Brenda Lou Hale Rickman. He was a former Paramedic with the Ceredo Volunteer Fire Department, Duvall EMS and Boone County EMS. He was a member of the Route 60 Freewill Baptist Church and was a former Deacon at Charity Freewill Baptist Church and Beulah Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Robert Rickman, maternal grandparents George and Elizabeth Hale and paternal grandparents Thomas and Lois Rickman. Survivors include his beloved wife Kathy Rickman; children Thomas Hildred Rickman and Brenda LeeAnn Rickman; brother Matthew Rickman; sister Christina Rickman and numerous other family and friends. Robertson, David “Davey”

David “Davey” Robertson, 50, passed away September 2, 2021. Davey was a lifelong resident of the Ceredo and Kenova communities and a proud graduate of C-K High School, Class of 1989. Davey is the son of Willie “Pete” and Phyllis Dillon Robertson Jr., the husband of Christie Adkins Robertson and the proud father of David Mason and Jayden Marie Robertson. He is the son-in-law of Loretta Adkins; the Brother-in-law to Mark and Bridgett Adkins and uncle to their son, Cody, of Kenova W.Va. and Michael and Debbie Adkins and uncle to their children, Caleb and Jenna of St. Charles, Missouri; Davey was also a friend and brother to so many others. He was a local business owner of Robertson’s Signs and Graphics and a proud Eagle Scout. Davey was a 30+ year member of the Ceredo and Kenova Volunteer Fire Departments and was a founding member of Fire and Iron Motorcycle Club Station 29. His kindness and generosity will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was born March 11, 1950 in Huntington, W.Va. son of Helen J. Smith Thompson and the late Julius Thompson. He was retired from the City of Huntington Sanitation Board. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by one sister Dianalynn Thompson, maternal grandparents William C. and Lula Smith and paternal grandparents Boyd & Viola Thompson. Blake, Charles F “Frank”

Charles Franklin “Frank” Blake, 79, of Ceredo, W.Va. passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born November 2, 1941 in Wayne County, W.Va. son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Nancy Margaret McKinney Blake. He was a retired crane operator from Special Metals. Frank was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and was a former member of the American Legion Post 93. He enjoyed bowling, the Cincinnati Reds and the Marshall Thundering Herd. Survivors include his beloved wife Beth Campioni Blake; sons Collis R.
