McGlone, Beatrice H. “Speck”

Beatrice Helen “Speck” Lyons McGlone, 83, of Kenova W.Va. beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born June 29, 1938 in Ceredo, W.Va. a daughter of the late William Francis and Anna Lee Kidd Lyons. Speck was from a large family of eight sisters whom she dearly loved. Growing up in Ceredo they attended local schools including Ceredo Kenova High School. She married the love of her life, Gene McGlone and together they had three daughters who survive her, Anna Gene Marsh, Teresa (Jimmy) Booth and Kelly (Guy) Marcum. She is also survived by two grandsons, Justin and Zach; five granddaughters, Arinn, Aimee, Anna, Jenny and Chanelle; 14 great grandchildren; four sisters, Jenny (Bill) Irvin, Angie Lockhart, Faith (Cecil) Wilks, and Hope (Doug) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McGlone, a grandson, Jason McGlone; a son-in-law, Stan Marsh and three sisters, Frances, Billye Jo and Penny. Family was her life, she loved being with her children, grandchildren and sisters. Her daughters valued her leadership, support, love and the time they spent together. Speck also loved her church family and had been a long time member of Ceredo Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and was a frequent visitor of the C-K Library where she will be missed. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Minister Matthew McBrayer and Elder Phillip Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours before the funeral on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the C-K Library, 1200 Oak St. Kenova. W.Va.   1. Aunt Speck was one of influences of my childhood upbringing. I spent many hours playing with Jason and she always fed us good. She always keep me on the straight and narrow as a kid…which was rough job…I will miss her very much…but she is now with her sisters, Francis, Penny, and my momma, Billye Jo…as well as her husband Gene, grandson Jason, Mother and Papaw Lyons.
