Bartley, Michael R

Michael Ray Bartley was born in Greencastle, Indiana on a spring day May 1, 1952 to the late Kermit and JoAnn Bartley. He had a younger brother Donald Lee Bartley and a younger sister Barbara Jo Thomas who he loved with all his heart.

On July 3, 1971 he married the love of his life Margaret Jayne Bartley.

As those who knew him well, his presence was felt at all moments. His energy could brighten a room.

He loved his family fiercely and so many loved him.

His passion was riding his motorcycle in the warmth of the sun and with his knees in the breeze.

He was fierce yet kind. He could cut a man down with the sharpness of his tongue, but he was generous in spirit.

His life was not short on challenges but still he held no grudges. Whatever he did, he did fully and unwavering with open arms. Whether it be raising and providing for his two girls Jessica Joann Roberts and Jeanette Virginia Bartram who he loved with all his heart, spending time with his eight grandchildren Brianna Roberts (Blondie), Olivia Roberts (Munchkin), Dallas Bartram (Hot Rod), Cyrus Roberts (Spanky), Saylor Roberts (Bright Eyes), Dawson Bartram (DawDaw), Deacon Bartram (Tankster) and Dru Bartram (His little Angel) and welcoming them each into this world. Loving his wife Jayne Bartley unconditionally for the past 50 years.

When he left this world on November 11, 2021 peacefully in his chair, he had his wife, oldest daughter, and his son-in-law Jason Ray Bartram who was the son to him he never had, at his side.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held 3:00-5:00 P.M. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova.

  1. Jane, Jeanette, Jessica know you all are in my prayers. I always enjoyed talking with your dad at the fitness center and whenever I ran into him out and about. He was always the same fun loving laughing good hearted guy but would tell you like it was and I appreciated his honesty when we talked. You could see the love he had for Jane & his family especially his precious grandbabies. Keep those knees in the breeze and fly high Mike.
