Betty Ann Drown Newman, 89, of Prichard, W.Va. passed away March 14, 2026 at her home. She was born November 10, 1936 to the late Benjamin F. and Laura Hazlett Drown. Betty was a proud graduate of the 1954 Class of Buffalo High School. She married the love of her life, Donald Virgil Newman and they lived in the Prichard area where they and raised their family together until his death in 2019. Betty was part owner of Newman’s Automatic Transmission Clinic. She also began a long banking career in Ceredo, W.Va. at the First National Bank Ceredo before finishing her career at Chase Bank in Huntington, W.Va. Betty was a member of Cyrus Baptist Church where she had been an active member, a Sunday School teacher and the church secretary. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Don Alan Newman and Rose and Don (Mark) Newman and Cindy; three granddaughters, Jennifer (Brandon) Loden, Madeline Newman and her fiancé Charles, and Allyson Newman; great grandchildren, Jackson Ward, soon to make his appearance, Waylon Alan James Loden, and Carson, Emma and Conner Jackson; one niece, Vickie Clark; four nephews, Rick and Mike Adkins, Stevie and Gary Michaels; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Wondell Hayton, Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the funeral home with Pastor Corey Adkins officiating and Pastor Tim Arthur assisting. Burial will follow in Cyrus Cemetery.
