Charles Edward Amos, 95, of Kenova, WV. died Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 6:00 P.M. Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Wiebe, Jr officiating. Private interment will take place in Dock’s Creek Cemetery. He was born June 20, 1931 in Logan, WV. a son of the late Charles and Dorothy Hodges Amos. Charles graduated from Marshall College after having served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy (he received more than he gave). Dad was a retired J. C. Penny manager after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Grace Gospel Church where he sang in the choir for many years. Dad enjoyed his final years at the Woodlands Retirement Community where he made numerous new friends. He enjoyed volunteering throughout the community. Dad enjoyed saving a buck and getting a good deal every chance he got, he wasn’t cheap but could squeeze a dime out of a penny. Dad enjoyed a good meal and no matter what it was there had to be a bottle of Tabasco hot sauce. He still enjoyed a good round of golf even at 95 and continued to take lessons to correct that life-long slice. On a serious note, he strove to spread the gospel of Christ everywhere he went and presented the saving grace offered to all through Christ Jesus our Lord. Only one life twill soon be passed only what’s done for Christ will last. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Chloenette Chafin Amos; sister Nancy Ann Morse, brother William Tom Amos and sister Dottie Sue Collins. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law Charles C. Amos (Mary Jane) and David G. Amos (Kelly); three grandchildren Sarah Catherine Scott (Phil), Dr. Michael Dorsey Amos and Eliza Grace Endicott (Adam); two great-grandchildren Jobe Eugene Endicott and Chloe Grace Endicott two sisters-in-law Shirley Amos and Alfredia Chafin; brother -in-law Kenny Collins and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chloenette Amos Scholarship Fund at Grace Gospel 1111 Adams Ave Huntington, WV. 25704.
