David Lee Blevins,77, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 18, 2025 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Graves officiating. Interment will follow in Ceredo Crescent Hill Cemetery. David was born November 26, 1947 in Huntington, WV. a son of Jacqueline Campbell Blevins and the late Harry Bert Blevins. He graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School in 1965 and shortly after he became a lineman with C&P Telephone. In 1967 he was drafted in the Army having served in the Vietnam War. He received the bronze star in 1968 and was a radio operator for his platoon in the 16thInfantry 1st Division. After being combat-wounded in 1968 he was unable to continue his service in the Army and continued his telecommunications career with Verizon and Fibernet with over 35 years of service. David had lifetime memberships in the VFW and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. His greatest achievement in life was being that of a father, provider, grandfather and loving son. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son John Blevins (Jayne); daughter Christy Parsons (Carlas); grandchildren Luke, Drew, Cole and Weston Blevins, Allen, Eric and Reese Parsons; great-grandchildren Hunter and Easton Parsons; former wife Sandra Lee Blevins and three brothers Dale Blevins (Linda), Don Blevins (Anny) and Brian Blevins. So sorry for your loss. David was a great guy. David was one of my David’s favorite when they worked together. We cherished his friendship Unfortunately retirement took us all in different directions. I will remember him always.
