Ellis, Dale M

Dale Marcum Ellis (Uncle Dale), 62, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019. Dale was born October 8, 1956 in Huntington, W.Va. son of the late John Ellis and late Barbara Ellen Perdue Fick. Dale enjoyed fishing with his Milwaukee Best at his side, and Monday night wrestling. He rooted for his favorite teams, the Alabama Roll-Tide, and the Marshall Thundering Herd. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake house tubing with friends and family. He was known as “Uncle Dale” to everyone, related or not, everyone loved his free spirited outlook on life, and he had a story for almost everything. He will be missed by everyone. He is survived by daughter Barbara Adel Bledsoe (Jason); two grandchildren Kyley and Eathan Bledsoe; two sisters Dixie Lilly (Russell) and Kathy Enterkin (Jay); nephews Floyd Lilly, Brady Gilkerson, Shawn Gilkerson, nieces Deserey Taylor and Ashley Lilly. And a host of friends and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandparents John and Goldie Ellis, one brother Ronald Ellis and the three wise women (Granny Dixie Perdue, Aunt Ellen Ray and Aunt Erma Gillespie). Visitation will be 5-6 PM Monday July 1st, 2019 with a service performed by Rob Prichard starting at 6 PM at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Online condolences may be expressed at rollinsfh.com.

  1. To the family, our hearts hurt for you….Uncle Dale will be missed so much he loved us all. I will miss his many stories he told & the love he showed for all of us. He will live forever in our hearts & our memories…May the family find comfort in this horrible time….

  2. My condolences to the family. I hope to not distraught the family in any way, however, I have a question…..is this perhaps the same Dale Ellis that grew up in the Highlawn area/section of Huntington? Could/would someone let me know, please? Thank you so very much.

  3. Dale was a great friend to me. Dale, Charlie Porter and I would fish all night long on the Ohio and Dale always had a great story to tell.
    My condolences to the family and may be rest in Gods arms.

    Jay, myself and kids miss you. Wish we had never lost contact. We will forever remember you in our hearts and family. You brightened our life and was the greatest God Father a kid could ask for. Till we meet again.. RIP dear friend.

  7. Know one loved you liked i did.. You might of got on my nerves but this sissy was always there for you . I’m gonna miss you coming down to watch our shows together and me cooking dinner. We did everything together. I Love Yoi Henry . U and your big brother Ronald together ,Rest High on that mountains.
