Garland (Buddy) Adam Pratt, Jr. of Kenova, WV passed away at the age of 82 on March 25, 2026 at Huntington Hospice House following an extended illness. Buddy was born on August 5, 1943 in Huntington, WV to Garland and Hazel Pratt, both deceased. He is preceded in death by sisters Velma Bowen of Kenova, WV and Virginia (Jenny) LeMaster of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and brother Warren Pratt of Port St. Lucie, Fl.
Buddy entered the US Army on April 13, 1965 where he served as Communication Specialist with the 97th Engineering Company, First US Army in South Korea. He was discharged in to April 11, 1967 with the rank of SP4(T).
Buddy worked as a civilian for the Huntington Bus Company for a few years before going to work for INCO, where he worked for many years until his retirement.
He is survived by his many neices and nephews located in West Virginia, North Carolina and Florida who loved him dearly. He spent many Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays with family and friends. Buddy was a member of First Baptist Church of Kenova his entire life and served as a deacon and usher for years. Buddy lived his entire life in the family home on Poplar Street in Kenova where he was the loving care giver to his Mother in her later years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026 at Rollins Funeral Home from Noon to 1:30 p.m. at which time the funeral service will begin with Pastor Chris Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rollinsfh.com.


That’s a lovely tribute to Mr. Pratt. It’s always sad to hear about the loss of a long-lived family member.
