
Kenneth Glenn “Kenny” Burner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and man of God, went to his heavenly home Saturday, November 15, 2025. Kenny was born November 19, 1950 in Elkins, W.Va. a son of the late Glenn W. and Aileen Painter Burner. He spent his early childhood growing up in Philippi, W.Va. until his family moved to Huntington, W.Va. where Kenny graduated from Vinson High School. He was a proud son of Marshall and graduated from Marshall University with a Journalism Degree. For 25 years Kenny proudly served as a W.Va. State Trooper and upon his retirement he went to work for the next 20 years for the US Government as the Deputy Director of HIDTA. Kenny was a member of the American Association of State Troopers, the W.Va. Troopers Association and was a member of O’Brien Masonic Lodge AM &FM No. 101, Williamson, W.Va. Kenny loved his God and was a member of the Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. He was a devoted family man who loved his wife and children and he and Dixie would have celebrated his 75th birthday and 43 years of marriage on November 19th. Kenny loved to workout and keep fit and part of this passion he shared with the girls soccer team of Spring Valley High School as their conditioning coach and later their head coach. Before each game he would tape a bible verse on their wrist to motivate and teach them about God’s love. Kenny leaves behind to carry on his memory his wife, Dixie Mounts Burner; his sons, Greg (Neera) Burner, Kyle (Kaitlyn) Burner, Brad (Sabrina) Burner and Chris (Eli) Burner; his daughters, Lindsey (Derek) Jordan and Beth Ann (Tom) McGraw; his grandchildren, Laila, Lane, Rylynn, Elaine, Logan, Loren and Lakyn; two sisters, Suzi Brenner and Fred and Carla and Dave Jefferson; and his constant companion, Ziggy. Kenny will be missed by all who knew and loved him, he was a great friend, a valued co-worker and a devoted family man. Visitation will be conducted on Friday, November 21st from 5 to 8 p.m. and a funeral service on Saturday, November 22, 2025 beginning at 2:00 p.m. all at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church with Beverly Sharp officiating. Rollins Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
