Loar-Nickell, Virginia E

Virginia Eleanor Loar Nickell, 87, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Eleanor was born December 29, 1931 in Kenova, a daughter of the late Clifford Maxwell Loar, Sr. and Elizabeth Greenslate Loar. She was an insurance billing clerk for Marshall Health Family Practice and had been a long time clerk for Griffith & Feil Drug Store. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Edward Nickell; sisters, Maxine Hastings and Sandra Caudill; and a brother, Clifford Maxwell Loar, Jr. She is survived by her four loving and dedicated daughters, Elizabeth “Libby” Nickell, Brenda (Bennie) Johnson, Beverly (David) Bowman and Johnna (Raymond) Aliff; her grandchildren, Charles Scott (Mandi) Johnson, Anisa Dawn (Larry) Childers, Brandi Kay (Jason) Alexander, Tyler Bowman and Jacob (Danielle) Perry; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson; three sisters, Anne Adkins, Billie Katherine Atamer and Judy Carol Suthard. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Eleanor loved the Lord and her church. No matter how bad she felt, she always tried to get to church. She loved to cook. She was an amazing pie maker. Her homemade doughnuts were the best. Eleanor loved Disney World and everything Mickey Mouse. She also leaves behind her fur baby, Molly who was such a comfort to her during her illness. Her girls would like to thank all the nurses at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for the excellent care she received there. Donations can be made to Kenova United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Kenova United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the church, with Pastor Jim Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova.   2. Johnna and family,so sorry to hear of Elanor’s passing,prayers for you and your family.Only met Elanor a few times and really liked her.May you have comfort knowing she is with with God and is looking down from Heaven at her family she loved so much.
