Margaret Ruby Lyons Burgess, 79, of Kenova, WV. passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Darin Fetherolf officiating. Interment will follow in the Blair Cemetery. She was born November 23, 1945 in Huntington a daughter of the late Louis William and Margarette Lett Lyons. She was a graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School and retired from the Wayne County Board of Education. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband James D. “Sonny” Burgess and two brothers Richard Lyons and Johnny Lyons. She is survived by two sons Timmy Burgess (Annie) and Jason Burgess and one daughter Pam Burgess Plymale; six grandchildren Brooke, Jayden, Nathan (Kaitlin), Sammy, Dane and Landon; one great-grandchild Campbell.
