Michael Robert Tyree, 23, of Huntington, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior July 3, 2026. He was born December 10, 2002 in Huntington, WV, son of Robert and Angelia Tyree. Michael was a structural welder for Maguire Iron, where he traveled the country. Michael loved life and could light up any room he came in to. He attended Spring Valley High School where he was a part of the 2017 MSAC championship and state runner-up football team. He later graduated from Penn Foster in 2020, and from Mountwest Community College in 2023. Michael had many loves hunting, fishing, tattoos and guns. He loved to play pool and to spend time with his friends. He was particularly fond of his jacked-up Ford F-350 and his chocolate lab and his cross-country partner Ash. Michael made friends everywhere he went. Above all, he was defined by his faith and deep love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents James and Dorothy Evans and his grandparents George and Carolyn Tyree. Michael is survived by his parents Robert and Angelia Tyree, his twin brother David Tyree, his Poppow Gary and Mommaw Patti Meade (with whom he spent many hours watching The Simpsons), uncles Donald Meade, George (Laura) Tyree, Andrew (Wenona) Tyree, cousins Hunter and Elizabeth Tyree, his best friends Cooper Miller and Blake Fischer, as well as a host of family and friends. A memorial service will be held from 12:30-2:30 P.M. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Mikey was definitely one of the good ones that’s for sure! Meeting him for the first time you would have thought you knew him forever, he always found a way to connect.
