
Chauncey “Red” Adkins, Jr. was born July 25th, 1932 and went home to be with the Lord on December 18th, 2025. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Ann Adkins, three brothers; Carl Adkins, Herald Adkins, and Paul Adkins; and two sisters; Inez (Adkins) Dial and Mauna Fae Adkins. He is survived by his two children, Rick (Tammy) Adkins of Huntington, WV and Mike (Penny) Adkins of Kenova, WV; four grandchildren, Jeremy Adkins of Huntington, Brittany (Timmy) Arthur of Chesapeake, OH, Corey (Brittany) Adkins of Huntington and Tyler (Chloe) Adkins of Huntington. He is also survived by an honorary daughter, Jenny (Pac) Smith of Kenova and honorary grandchildren, Dustin (Jamie) Smith of Huntington, Coty (Beth) Smith of Catlettsburg, KY and Jacob Smith of Huntington, and a total of 17 great grandchildren. He was an army veteran and served in the Korean conflict. He was a salesman at First City Auto Sales for many years and later owned his own dealership. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He liked to water ski, pitch horse-shoes and bowl. He enjoyed going to church and taking part in church related activities. He attended The Family of God church in Morehead, Ky and later after moving to Huntington he attended Locust Grove Baptist church. During the last few years he attended ReClaim Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 12/23/2025 at 11am Reclaim Church, Huntington with Pastor Corey Adkins officiating and Pastor Tim Arthur assisting. Visitation will be two hours before the service. The family asks in lieu of flowers, to please make donations to ReClaim Church or 26th Street Baptist Church. While our hearts grieve his passing, we find peace in knowing that Casey accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized on November 2, 2025, securing the promise of eternal life.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Jobe, and one brother Richard Akers. Deborah Jean May “Debbie”, 71, of Kenova, WV left this earth quietly and peacefully and entered Heaven with her husband and son holding her hand on Friday, November 28, 2025. Other family members were at the bedside. Debbie was a daughter of the late Cullie and Minerva Ratcliff Williamson. She was preceded in death by her son, Brad and brother, Roger Williamson. She is survived by the love of her life of 51 years, John May; son Jason; sisters Geneva (Joe) George of Huntington, Sheri (Steve) Brewer of Crum and brother Larry (Jan) Williamson of Alabama; sister-in-law, Ada Williamson of Crum; Uncle James (Mary) Williamson of Kenova and a slew of nieces, nephews and cousins. Debbie loved spending time with her family, being on the water, reading and working word and jigsaw puzzles. A devoted teacher in Wayne County WV. for many years, she was loved and respected by her students. A memorial gathering for friends and family will begin at 1:00 P.M. Erma Lee Chadwick Christian, 98, widow of Pearl “Buster” Christian, of Prichard, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in New Albany, Ohio on November 24, 2025. Erma was born in Cyrus, West Virginia on November 15, 1927. She was the daughter of Sam Chadwick and Nellie Damron Chadwick of Cyrus, West Virginia. Erma was a lifelong member of Cyrus Missionary Baptist Church, serving in many capacities, in Cyrus, West Virginia and loved her church family dearly.
Ronald Lee “Ron” Hampton, 80, of South Point, OH passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 6:00 P.M., November 24, 2025 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Watters officiating. Interment will be in Cyrus Cemetery. He was born October 9, 1945 a son of the late Gartha and Charlene Akers Hampton. He was a former driver for UPS and restaurant owner. He was a member of Christ Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Paula M. Hampton. He is survived by his wife Roxanne Nixon Hampton; two daughters Jamie Hampton Mathews (John) and April Hampton Haun (Heath); three grandchildren Brittany McClellan, Ashlee Mathews and Piper Haun; five great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Kyler McClellan; Noelle and Jaxon Legrand and Bo Starn. Bonus children Doug and John Adkins and Deena Spurlock; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother Don Hampton and one sister Virginia Jeffers. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Charles Michael Dodrill (Mike),45, of Huntington, WV. passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at UK Hospital in Lexington. Mike was a paramedic and worked for many agencies over the years such as Lifeline, Kenova EMS, Ceredo EMS, Air Evac and Healthnet. He retired from Cabell County EMS where he spent 22 years of his career. He was a longtime employee of Huntington Medcom where he remained “the voice on the radio” until his passing. Mike was also an Eagle Scout. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Merlin and Ruth Pitts; paternal grandparents Charles F. and Mary Jane Dodrill and his uncle Michael John Pitts. Mike is survived by his wife Shelby Ward Dodrill; his two children Morghan Dodrill and Charles Matthew Dodrill; his parents Charles Robert (Bob) and Wendysue Pitts Dodrill and a host of family and close friends he considered his family.
