Chauncey “Red” Adkins, Jr. was born July 25th, 1932 and went home to be with the Lord on December 18th, 2025. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois Ann Adkins, three brothers; Carl Adkins, Herald Adkins, and Paul Adkins; and two sisters; Inez (Adkins) Dial and Mauna Fae Adkins. He is survived by his two children, Rick (Tammy) Adkins of Huntington, WV and Mike (Penny) Adkins of Kenova, WV; four grandchildren, Jeremy Adkins of Huntington, Brittany (Timmy) Arthur of Chesapeake, OH, Corey (Brittany) Adkins of Huntington and Tyler (Chloe) Adkins of Huntington. He is also survived by an honorary daughter, Jenny (Pac) Smith of Kenova and honorary grandchildren, Dustin (Jamie) Smith of Huntington, Coty (Beth) Smith of Catlettsburg, KY and Jacob Smith of Huntington, and a total of 17 great grandchildren. He was an army veteran and served in the Korean conflict. He was a salesman at First City Auto Sales for many years and later owned his own dealership. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He liked to water ski, pitch horse-shoes and bowl. He enjoyed going to church and taking part in church related activities. He attended The Family of God church in Morehead, Ky and later after moving to Huntington he attended Locust Grove Baptist church. During the last few years he attended ReClaim Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 12/23/2025 at 11am Reclaim Church, Huntington with Pastor Corey Adkins officiating and Pastor Tim Arthur assisting. Visitation will be two hours before the service. The family asks in lieu of flowers, to please make donations to ReClaim Church or 26th Street Baptist Church. Dinah M Pratt, of Huntington, WV, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Kenova Church of Christ with Minister Amos Prince officiating. Interment will follow at Catlettsburg Cemetery. Dinah was born January 11, 1947, in Ashland, KY, a daughter of the late Mitchell and Opal Rowe. She is also preceded in death by her husband Clarence Pratt and daughter-in-law June Swinford. She was a member of Kenova Church of Christ. Dinah was a homemaker who loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids dearly. She is survived by three sons David Swinford, Phillip B Swinford, and Scott Pratt; one sister and brother-in-law Joe and Peggy Pratt and a brother Louis Rowe; six grandchildren Phillip B Swinford, Jr, Violet Marie Swinford, Adam Swinford, Faith Lyons, Sarah Truitt, and Levi Swinford and five great-grandchildren David Lyons, Jessie Lyons, Ada Swinford, Trea Swinford, Scarlett Swinford, Alexandria Rose Swinford, Jamie Claire Swinford, Deven Lyons, Andrew Joseph Truitt III. Friends may call Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Kenova Church of Christ. Casey Michael Chaffin was born on September 14, 1974, in Huntington, West Virginia, and was called home on December 16, 2025. While our hearts grieve his passing, we find peace in knowing that Casey accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized on November 2, 2025, securing the promise of eternal life.

Casey grew up in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, where he formed lifelong friendships, and he graduated from Boyd County High School in 1992. He went on to build a strong work ethic throughout his career, working as sales manager for Kentucky Eagle and the Kentucky Lottery, where he was known for his dedication and friendly nature. Denver Earl Frasher, 76, of Fort Gay, WV. passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Pastor Darin Fetherolf officiating. He was born October 21, 1949 a son of the late Barney and Edith Frasher. He was preceded in death by his 18 siblings. He graduated from Ceredo-Kenova High School. Denver married Sandra Ellen (Epling) Frasher on May 7, 1968. They had two children Dora Rachelle (Shelly) Adkins (Presley) and Connie Sue (Susie) Barrett (Ronald). He gave his life to the Lord in 2002 and was an active member and Elder in the First Church of Big Hurricane (Fort Gay, WV.) Denver led services and taught from scriptures. He could more often than not be found in his garage listening to his gospel songs. He worked and retired from Ferrell Gas. He had many grandchildren that he was a “Pappy” to but his biological grandchildren were Presley (P.J.) Adkins (Crystal); Cassandra (Cassie) Snyder (Adam) and Christyn Barrett (fiance’ Chris Lester). He also had great-grandchildren who were blessed with the time they had with him he loved his “babies” more than anything. These include: Hunter Jace Adkins, Kinsley Rachelle Adkins, Brigham Nicholas Snyder and Dawson Reid Adkins. We would also like to recognize his loving sister, Debbie Hatten who ensured supper was brought to Denver every evening following the passing of his wife Sandy. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Rollins Funeral Home. Lola May Jobe, 67, passed away at home, Kenova, WV. on December 5, 2025. The daughter of the late Jewell and Ruby Akers. She was preceded in death by her husband David Jobe, and one brother Richard Akers. She is survived by one sister Dianne (Rick) Davis of Proctorville, Ohio, one brother Danny Akers of Kenova, WV., one very special niece Tara (Stace) Porter and very special great-nephew Noah Porter andvery special great-niece Scarlett Porter. Linda Kay Harmon Vance, 70, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Madison Park Healthcare. Graveside service will be conducted 1:00P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the Newman-Ferguson and Hatten Cemetery on Centerville Road with Brother Jim VanZandt officiating. She was born January 12, 1955 in Huntington a daughter of the late Jerry and Nellie Craft Harmon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dwight Vance; two sisters Viola Welch, Alberta Marshall and three brothers William, Jerry, and James Harmon. She is survived by two sisters Mary McSorley and Irene Freeman and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation and no procession to the cemetery. Deborah Jean May “Debbie”, 71, of Kenova, WV left this earth quietly and peacefully and entered Heaven with her husband and son holding her hand on Friday, November 28, 2025. Other family members were at the bedside. Debbie was a daughter of the late Cullie and Minerva Ratcliff Williamson. She was preceded in death by her son, Brad and brother, Roger Williamson. She is survived by the love of her life of 51 years, John May; son Jason; sisters Geneva (Joe) George of Huntington, Sheri (Steve) Brewer of Crum and brother Larry (Jan) Williamson of Alabama; sister-in-law, Ada Williamson of Crum; Uncle James (Mary) Williamson of Kenova and a slew of nieces, nephews and cousins. Debbie loved spending time with her family, being on the water, reading and working word and jigsaw puzzles. A devoted teacher in Wayne County WV. for many years, she was loved and respected by her students. A memorial gathering for friends and family will begin at 1:00 P.M. Erma Lee Chadwick Christian, 98, widow of Pearl “Buster” Christian, of Prichard, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in New Albany, Ohio on November 24, 2025. Erma was born in Cyrus, West Virginia on November 15, 1927. She was the daughter of Sam Chadwick and Nellie Damron Chadwick of Cyrus, West Virginia. Erma was a lifelong member of Cyrus Missionary Baptist Church, serving in many capacities, in Cyrus, West Virginia and loved her church family dearly.

Erma married Pearl “Buster” Christian while a senior at Buffalo High School. Upon graduation, she joined her husband in Norfolk, Virginia where he was serving in the United States Navy. Erma returned home while Buster was deployed to Corpus Christi, Texas and she began a long tenure of working and serving in her church and community.

Erma worked many jobs throughout her life including The Sylvania Plant in Huntington, West Virginia. Both Buster and Erma devoted many of their later years to M & M Mailing Company, where they were relied on to provide assistance when needed. While Erma was happy to have served her community in those ways, she was most proud of her accomplishments as a homemaker, seamstress, and floral designer. Erma was highly sought after to create floral arrangements for loved ones at Cyrus Cemetery, where she and Buster were the primary caretakers.

Erma loved God above all else, and her dedication to the Lord transpired into how she treated her family. Family meant everything to Erma and she never hesitated to be there for a family member in need. Not just family, but Erma did not know a stranger and would drop everything to offer assistance to anyone. She will certainly be remembered for her big heart, compassionate soul, and giving nature.

Erma is survived by her sister, Wilma Nell Chadwick Akers, son Charles Samuel (Virgie) Christian, son Pearl Edward (Sue) Christian, daughter Deborah Carol Christian Drake, grandsonMark Edward Christian, grandson Gregory Edward (Tasha) Christian, granddaughter Melissa Dawn (Donovan) Reed, granddaughter Amy Renee (Rich) Branson, great-granddaughter Olivia (Williams) Gabriel, great-grandson Weston Christian, great-granddaughter Kayla Adkins, great-granddaughter Haley Christian, great-grandson Malachi Christian, great-grandson Micah Christian, great-grandson Mason Christian, great-granddaughter Kaitlin (Jarod) Van Winkle, great-grandson Donovan Christian Reed, great-granddaughter Alyson Kelley Reed, great-great granddaughter Grace Gabriel, great-great-granddaughter Bonnie Gabriel, great-great-grandson James Adkins, great-great-grandson, Jaxon Adkins, great-great-grandson Grayson Christian, great-great-granddaughter Sloane McNally, great-great-granddaughter Alexandra James Van Winkle, great-great-granddaughter Liliana Roy Van Winkle.

Services will be held at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, West Virginia. Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 12:00pm-2:00pm with the funeral service beginning at 2:00pm. Ronald Lee “Ron” Hampton, 80, of South Point, OH passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 6:00 P.M., November 24, 2025 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Watters officiating. Interment will be in Cyrus Cemetery. He was born October 9, 1945 a son of the late Gartha and Charlene Akers Hampton. He was a former driver for UPS and restaurant owner. He was a member of Christ Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Paula M. Hampton. He is survived by his wife Roxanne Nixon Hampton; two daughters Jamie Hampton Mathews (John) and April Hampton Haun (Heath); three grandchildren Brittany McClellan, Ashlee Mathews and Piper Haun; five great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Kyler McClellan; Noelle and Jaxon Legrand and Bo Starn. Bonus children Doug and John Adkins and Deena Spurlock; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother Don Hampton and one sister Virginia Jeffers. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Charles Michael Dodrill (Mike),45, of Huntington, WV. passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at UK Hospital in Lexington. Mike was a paramedic and worked for many agencies over the years such as Lifeline, Kenova EMS, Ceredo EMS, Air Evac and Healthnet. He retired from Cabell County EMS where he spent 22 years of his career. He was a longtime employee of Huntington Medcom where he remained “the voice on the radio” until his passing. Mike was also an Eagle Scout. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Merlin and Ruth Pitts; paternal grandparents Charles F. and Mary Jane Dodrill and his uncle Michael John Pitts. Mike is survived by his wife Shelby Ward Dodrill; his two children Morghan Dodrill and Charles Matthew Dodrill; his parents Charles Robert (Bob) and Wendysue Pitts Dodrill and a host of family and close friends he considered his family.
