Steven Leslie Caldwell, 66, of Ashland, Ky. passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at the Community Care Center in Ashland. He was born March 14, 1956 in Huntington, WV son of the late Ted and Dolly Ruth Caldwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents Bogar and Eula Caldwell and Mose and Letha Damron. Steve was a veteran having joined the Army in 1974. He loved martial arts and was a whiz with his numb-chucks. He also loved reading his Bible on a daily basis. Steve had a big heart and loved his family dearly. Survivors include his sister Kathy Caldwell Swaney (Jeff); son Shawn Frechette; daughters Cheryl Blankenship and Brittney Stephens; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two nieces; one great-nephew; three great-nieces; two uncles; three aunts and numerous cousins. The family would like to thank the staff at the Community Care Center for their care of Steve. Also, thank you to Marie, Ernie and Shawn for all they did to help Stevie. His caretaker Stephanie Roberts was awesome. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Maple Hill Cemetery with the American Legion Post 93 Honor Guard conducting military rites. Friends may call from 11:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M.
