Stewart, Marsha L

Marsha Louise Stewart (Thompson), 70, of Huntington, peacefully passed away on Tuesday March 9th, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill Stewart, her parents Felix and Mary Thompson, and her brother Larry Thompson.  She is survived by her son, Daniel (Michelle); her two grandchildren, Isaac and Charlie; three sisters, Sharon Nicholas of Huntingon, Phyllis Wilcox of Hurricane, and Sylvia Thompson of Huntington; and many beloved nieces and nephews.  She will also be missed by her special ”Group” of friends.

Marsha graduated from Barboursville High School and Marshall University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.  She was employed as a Job Counselor by Link Childcare and WV Job Services (Workforce WV).

Marsha and her husband Bill enjoyed music festivals and sightseeing throughout the Eastern United States and Canada.  Marsha enjoyed macramé, stained glass, ceramics, watercolor painting, and needle point.  Always a lover of the arts, Marsha was a member of The Praise Painters and the Tri-Area Needle Arts (TANA).  Known for her fabulous baking, her family and friends will be talking about her pies and cakes for years to come.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 20th at Spring Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Bob Hogsett presiding.

  1. So sorry to hear this. Marsha was my neighbor on Springdale Avenue. She was a wonderful warm lady who I am so proud to have known. Rest in the arms of Jesus Marsha.🙏❤
