William J. “Bill” Robertson went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends. He was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bill’s dedication to his faith and his desire to help others was his generous nature. He loved fishing, golf and everything his grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in. He was a veteran serving in the Army National Guard during the Berlin Crisis. He was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel on June 15, 1995, as an ambassador of goodwill and fellowship for his contributions to the community and the state. He was a member of the Crescent Lodge #32 Ceredo, WV. He retired from the Local 80 as an insulator. He was also the owner and operator of the Spring Valley Market for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his late parents Ralph and Mary Robertson, two brothers Rev. Elmer and Rev. Thelmer Robertson, one sister Blanche Ward, three brother-in-law’s Jim and Dick Ward, Baylous Chinn, and one sister-in-law Joyce Robertson. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Jean Spry Robertson, daughter Kim (Jim) Hensley, son Billy (Belinda) Robertson, grandchildren Tara (Carlos) Barron, Stefani (Clayton) Lovejoy, Brandon Robertson, Tyler (Katie) Robertson, great-grandchildren Maddox and Carli Barron, Caid, Cash, Case, and Sadie Lovejoy, brother Ervin “Slats” (Sue) Robertson, sisters Gaye Ward and Glenna Chinn, sister-in-law Oneida Robertson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church, of which he was a member and Deacon,with Pastor Jody Fortner officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at the church.
