Casey Michael Chaffin was born on September 14, 1974, in Huntington, West Virginia, and was called home on December 16, 2025. While our hearts grieve his passing, we find peace in knowing that Casey accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized on November 2, 2025, securing the promise of eternal life.
Casey grew up in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, where he formed lifelong friendships, and he graduated from Boyd County High School in 1992. He went on to build a strong work ethic throughout his career, working as sales manager for Kentucky Eagle and the Kentucky Lottery, where he was known for his dedication and friendly nature.
Casey was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, and friend—a true free spirit with a generous heart who would give you the shirt off his back. Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, Casey had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and feel welcome. If you knew him as your friend, you were blessed.
He was a devoted father to his two children, his daughter, Chandler, and his son, Henry. They were the center of his life, and there was nothing he would not do for them. His greatest joy came from simply being their dad- sharing time, laughter, and unconditional love with them. Being their father was his proudest and most cherished role.
Casey loved the outdoors and cherished time at the cabin. He adored dogs, enjoyed movies, played volleyball, and was a devoted Steelers and LA Dodgers fan. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—chicken wings shared with friends, quoting Star Wars, and spending countless hours as a master craftsman with Legos. One of his favorite pastimes was taking the top off his Jeep, affectionately nicknamed Leia, and heading out for a drive, embracing the freedom of the open road.
He is survived by his children, Chandler and Henry; his mother, Alyce North (Larry) and his brother, Bobby (Stacy) Chaffin and niece, Maggie. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Chaffin, and his stepfather, Lovell Mulkey. Grandparents Robert and Maxine McKenzie and Edward and Virginia Chaffin.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in the promise of salvation and eternal life. Casey now rests in the presence of his Lord, free from pain and surrounded by perfect peace. His faith, love, and joyful spirit will live on through his children and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
In lieu of flowers the family request that you please conduct a random act of kindness in Casey’s memory.
Services honoring Casey will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Rollins Funeral Home, Kenova, WV . Visitation hour from 1-2 with service at 2. Rev. Henry Scott Byard officiating.

I remember taking that picture as if it were yesterday!
It was September 11, 2015. We were in Oak Hill, WV, having just set up camp for two nights to raft the Upper Gauley River and attend an on-site music festival. GREAT memories!
I will be in attendance for the funeral and will have copies of the picture for those who would like one.
Rest easy, Casey.
Thank you so much, Matt. You were a good friend to Casey…. Thank you for this photo… it was his favorite.
