Sadie Francies Hughes, 56, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away at her residence March 10, 2026. She was born October 22, 1969, to Francies Hughes and the late Dennis Hughes. She was also preceded in death by her sister Rhoda Elizabeth Denise Hughes. She is survived by a brother George (Sharon) Hughes, daughter Amelia Hughes, son Dennis Hughes, a special niece Marsha Mays, and a host of nieces and nephews. There will be no services at this time. Betty Ann Drown Newman, 89, of Prichard, W.Va. passed away March 14, 2026 at her home. She was born November 10, 1936 to the late Benjamin F. and Laura Hazlett Drown. Betty was a proud graduate of the 1954 Class of Buffalo High School. She married the love of her life, Donald Virgil Newman and they lived in the Prichard area where they and raised their family together until his death in 2019. Betty was part owner of Newman’s Automatic Transmission Clinic. She also began a long banking career in Ceredo, W.Va. at the First National Bank Ceredo before finishing her career at Chase Bank in Huntington, W.Va. Betty was a member of Cyrus Baptist Church where she had been an active member, a Sunday School teacher and the church secretary. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Don Alan Newman and Rose and Don (Mark) Newman and Cindy; three granddaughters, Jennifer (Brandon) Loden, Madeline Newman and her fiancé Charles, and Allyson Newman; great grandchildren, Jackson Ward, soon to make his appearance, Waylon Alan James Loden, and Carson, Emma and Conner Jackson; one niece, Vickie Clark; four nephews, Rick and Mike Adkins, Stevie and Gary Michaels; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and Wondell Hayton, Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the funeral home with Pastor Corey Adkins officiating and Pastor Tim Arthur assisting. Burial will follow in Cyrus Cemetery. Bonnie Marie Mayo Fitzpatrick, 86, of North Olmsted, Ohio passed away March 6, 2026. She was born March 24, 1939 in Huntington, W.Va. a daughter of the late Charles and Alva Fairchild Mayo. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Shelby, and Ronald and three sisters, Alice and Freda, and Mary. Bonnie was a hard worker and excelled at many jobs over the years from being a car salesman to retiring from Corbin Ltd. where she worked in retail sales. In addition to working full time she raised her family whom she fiercely loved. Left behind to cherish the memories they shared are her husband, Robert Samuel Fitzpatrick; her three daughters, Kathy (Paul Perdue) Black, Rachel Davis with whom she made her home and Carol (Johnny) Duncan; her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nana, Jason Conway, Ryan Davis, Heather Evans, Renetta Hunt, Brittany Barker and great grandchildren Chance Martinez, Gaebrielle Evans, Isabelle Evans and Arya Conway, Brooklyn Barker, Silas Barker, Rachel Davis, Benjamin Mathis, Connor Mathis and Jacob Hunt. She is also survived by two brothers, Charles (Dianna) Mayo and Timothy (Donna) Mayo; and one sister, Martha Nelson. Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and she was an avid reader of all types of books. She also had a fondness for dogs and cats. Bonnie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Mayo Cemetery on the right fork of Sherwood Road. Rev. Scott Byard is the officiant. Jackie Lee Stevens, 80, of Huntington, WV, was called Home Sunday March 8th, 2026 at Kings Daughter’s Medical Center, in Ashland, KY.  He was met there by his mother and father, Trudy and Burgess Stevens, of Wayne, WV; and his siblings who had gone on before him: John T, Timmy, Sammy, Susie, Judy and Vernon.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Cookie; his siblings: Roxie Akers, Jesse Stevens, Mark Stevens, David (Lynn) Stevens, Burgess “Bo” (Penny) Stevens, and Renee (Mike) Smith; his children, Tammy (Mike) Smith, Missy Stevens, Chris (Kayde) Stevens, Tracy (John) Sharp, and Nancy (Ronnie) Lusk; his 14 grandchildren, Cassy Sommerville, Kaitlyn (Randy) Elliott, Justin (Montana) Stevens, Derrek (Katie) Wright, Tyler (Kyana) Stevens, Madison (Leonard) Anderscavage, Emily (TJ) McGinnis, Caleb Stevens, Joshua Stevens, Lukas Sharp, Keaton Stevens, Kaylee Stevens, Abigail Lusk, and Riley Stevens; his 11 great grandchildren he lovingly dubbed “George” but are better known as Braylen, Axel, Connor, Easton, Charlotte, Nolan, Rory, Sebastian, Tommy, Tatum, and Archer; his newest blessing, due to arrive in July; and nieces and nephews so numerous the human mind cannot comprehend. 

Jack was born August 23, 1945 at his home on Hensley Branch, in Wayne, WV.  He attended primary school at the Staley School on Whites Creek before graduating Buffalo High School, class of 1963. 

After graduation he was drafted into the US Army where he proudly served his country from 1965 through 1968, in the Vietnam War. After his time in the service he built a life centered around Christ, family, hard work, and the simple joys that meant the most to him.  He retired from environmental services at the VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV after 18 years.

Jack was a member of Kenova Church of Christ, where he enjoyed leading singing and teaching Sunday school classes when his children were young.  He also found happiness on the lake, fishing; on the golf course, softball field, and looking for Bigfoot. 

He always had the radio set to the Oldies station and the TV on whatever ballgame was playing at the time.  Recently, he had developed a fascination with extreme lawn makeovers and constantly sent Cookie out after new lawn decorations so he could enjoy the view from his favorite spot, the swing.

Jack loved so fiercely and made sure no one ever went without.  He never met a stranger.  Above all, Jack will be remembered as a man who loved his family deeply and took pride in every generation that followed him.  His presence will be dearly missed but loved ones will carry on his stories, sharing his love of Christ, family, sports, and the outdoors; and keeping an eye out for Sasquatch — just in case he finally found the proof he was looking for.  

He would want us all to remember him with laughter, take comfort in the fact he is at Home with the Lord, and not cry, because “That’s stupid…”

The family will receive visitors Friday, March 13th, 2026 at noon, at Kenova Church of Christ.  1801 Chestnut Street, Kenova, WV, with services at 1pm with Bro. Joe Pratt and Bro. Amos Prince presiding.  Internment will take place at Spring Valley Memorial Gardens following services.

James “Jimmy” Curtis Jackson, 67, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away March 4, 2026 at his home. He was born May 29, 1958 a son of the late Ralph “Rusty” Jackson and Helen Cyrus Jackson. Jimmy worked for the City of Kenova for over 20 years as an EMT and firefighter. He also worked as a dispatcher for the Kenova Police Department for several years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country. Growing up in Kenova he attended Ceredo Kenova High School and was a friend to many. In addition to his parents Jimmy was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sunny Nicole Hackworth; one sister, Debby Hazlett and one brother, Danny Jackson. Those left behind to keep his memory alive are daughters, Amber Jackson, Grace Jackson, his youngest daughter who was his constant companion growing up, Jillian (Makayla) Jackson and Jillian’s mother, Lorraine “Lori” Jackson. Also surviving are two sons, Damon Perry and Greg Thompson; two bonus daughters, Crystal and Rachel; two special nieces, Tammy and Stephanie; a beloved grandson, Jace and his loving companion and friend, his chihuahua, Ellie. Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Ethel Eileen Facarazzo, 64, of Prichard, W.Va. passed away February 27, 2026 at her home. She was born April 27, 1961 in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late Wondell Hayton and Nancy Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother Mary Hayton; a brother Jerry Dale Hayton and a sister Toni Lynn Gebauer. She is survived by her loving husband Dominic “DJ” Facarazzo, brothers James, Wondell, TH, and Scott Hayton; one sister Donna Smith; half-sister Jill Curlis; stepbrothers Rick and Mike Adkins, three nephews, four nieces, many great nieces and nephews, and one great-great niece. Debbie Sue Hazlett, 74, of Huntington, WV, passed away February 12, 2026, at her home. She was born August 30, 1951,in Huntington, WV. daughter of the late Ralph and Helen Jackson. She was retired, having worked many years designing and installing closets for Closetmaid. She was a member of the Hernando United Methodist Church in Hernando, Florida, where she often acted and sang in shows with her granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Mack Hazelett, and one brother Danny Randall Jackson. She is survived by one daughter Tammy Jackson (Walter Ross), one brother James “Jimmy” Jackson, one beloved granddaughter Stephanie Kathlene Weiford and her fiancé Thomas Andrew Hays, and best friends Hazel Powell, Barbara and Arnold Adkins. Mabel JoAnn Belcher Avis, 86, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away February 18, 2026 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. Joann was born September 26, 1939 a daughter of the late Henry Beecher and Gladys Belcher. She was a graduate of Man High School and spent her life caring for her beloved family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John D. Avis, Sr.; one son, John D Avis, Jr. and his wife, Kathy; one granddaughter, Jordan Hannah Duhamell and her husband, Dominica; a great granddaughter, Brooke Duhamell; a sister, Ruth Graham of Dayton, Ohio and a brother, Mackie Belcher of, Low Ash, Buffalo Creek in Logan County, W.Va. JoAnn was a 50 year member of the Catlettsburg Harvest Church of God, Catlettsburg, KY. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, February 23, 2026 beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Spring Valley Memory Gardens, Huntington, W.Va. There will be no visitation or procession to the cemetery. Ileta Hoosier Willis, born June 5,1934 went to see her Lord and family in Heaven, February 15, 2026 at the age of 91. She was the daughter of the late George and Eltha Hatten Hoosier. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Ernest “Bill” Willis; daughter, Tina Prince; granddaughter, Brandi Davis; grandson, Chipper Willis; sister, Rose Ellen Osborne and three infant siblings. She is survived by her sons, Ernie and Susie Willis of Kenova, W.Va., with whom she has made her home for the last ten months; Scott Willis, Tim and Angie Willis; and a son-in-law, Alphrey Prince, all of Prichard, W.Va. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren who called her “Granny” and the rest of her family and friends. In addition she is survived by a special nephew, George Osborne; cousin, Nellie Jordan and her son, Steve Salyers; and her very best friend, Viola Bentley. Ileta will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be conducted on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. when her funeral service will begin with Rev.
