OTIS E. ADKINS age 75 went home to be with the Lord on February 3, 2019.  Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday February 7, 2019 by Rev. Rodney Hale at First Baptist Church, Ceredo.  Interment will be at Spring Valley Memorial Gardens.  Husband of Carole Brown Hayner Adkins.  He was the youngest child of 10 children of the late Oscar and Vicie Ferguson Adkins.  He was proceeded in death by his late wife Tannis Lane Frazier Adkins, one son Mark Adkins, one step-son Anthony Frazier and two precious grandsons James Arthur II and Chase Adkins, three brothers Ervin, Oscar Jr., and Shirley Ray Adkins, three sisters Jettie Lee Adkins, June (Mose)  Napier and Jewell Sunderlin.  He is survived by his wife, three sons James (Gail) of Kenova, Oscar Stephen (Tammy) of Ceredo and Patrick (Dawna) of Huntington, four step-children Timmy (Angela) Frazier of Kenova, Aaron (Tiffany) Frazier of Huntington, Michael Hayner of Singapore and Timothy (Jessica) Hayner of Nashville, TN.  Two brothers Gene and Fred Adkins and one sister Cleo Harger of Springfield, MO.  Thirteen precious grandchildren Christopher, Kayla, Ashlee, Taylor Nicole, Brandon,Timmy, Hayden, Mckenzie, Hannah, Drew, Taylor Michelle, Madison and Case whom he loved dearly.  He is survived by several nieces and nephews a life-long friend David Pennington and many friends. Jerry Allen Stewart, 72, of Chesapeake, OH. passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 8, 2019 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova with Pastor Jason Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites being administered by the American Legion Post 93 Honor Guard. Jerry was born June 22, 1946 in Kenova, WV. a son of the late Harvey Allen and Kathleen Wood Stewart. He was a former truck driver for the Keebler Company, member of the Poplar Street Church of God and a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Sharon Martin and Debbie Davis and one precious grandson Chad Allen Stewart. Survivors include his beloved wife Carolyn Virginia Hodge Stewart; one son and daughter-in-law Jerry A. Stewart, Jr. (Tammy); one daughter and son-in-law Shelley Sexton (Michael); five grandchildren Brittany Thompson (Jeremy), Ashley Hastings (Justin), Justin Sexton (Wei), Nathan Stewart and Joshua Sexton. Claude Hubert Perdue, 72, of Ceredo, WV passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 his residence. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 3, 2019 at his residence with Pastor Roger Colegrove officiating. Claude was born October 29, 1946 in Kenova, WV. a son of the late Jack and Betty Childers Perdue. He was a member of the American Legion Post 93 and a lifelong resident of Ceredo. Claude served his country in the U.S. Army. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers Harold Ray Perdue and Jack R. Perdue and one sister Sheila Cole. Survivors include his beloved wife Diania L. Smith Perdue; one daughter and son-in-law Kristy Hun (Nick); two grandchildren Owen and Ella Hun; one sister and brother-in-law Gloria Pierce (William) Bill and several other family and friends. It is with great sadness that we announce that James Hubert Perry, age 77, son, brother, husband, father, uncle, friend and most importantly, a great human being, has passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019, at his residence in Coronado, California, after living a full life dedicated to making the world a better place.

James (“Jim”) was born on July 26, 1941, and was raised in Ceredo – Kenova, West Virginia by his loving parents, Albert Jenkins Perry and Thelma Tipton. Jim was the youngest of seven children (Albert, David, Juanita, Richard, Barb, and Mabel) and loved his brothers and sisters with all of his heart. Family, church and community were the foundations of Jim’s life, and his love for his family, God and his home town would always bring Jim back down those country roads to “Almost Heaven” West Virginia. Della Jewell Brumfield Burton, 81, of Barboursville, WV passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Della was born October 31, 1937 in Cabell Co. a daughter of the late Commadore P. and Alice Mead Brumfield. She was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of God. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by a son Ronald Fielder; daughter Diane Trezil; three brothers and six sisters. Virginia Eleanor Loar Nickell, 87, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Eleanor was born December 29, 1931 in Kenova, a daughter of the late Clifford Maxwell Loar, Sr. and Elizabeth Greenslate Loar. She was an insurance billing clerk for Marshall Health Family Practice and had been a long time clerk for Griffith & Feil Drug Store. Shy, Toby F

Toby Franklin Shy, 84, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. He was born July 11, 1934 in Wayne County, W.Va. a son of the late Delbert and Sadie Gilkerson Shy. Toby graduated from Buffalo High School in 1954. He retired from the Huntington Police Department where he had served as a Lieutenant for 31 years. Toby also served two terms as the Sheriff of Wayne County. Ruth Loraine Barton, 84, of Ceredo, W. Va. Passed away on Thursday January 10, 2019 at Wurtland Nursing Center in Wurtland, KY. She was born September 27, 1934, in Ceredo, W. Va., a daughter of the late Lorraine and Opal Hall. She had worked in the Collection Department for Guaranty National Bank, In Huntington, W. Va. Ruth was a member of the Spring Valley Freedom Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Ray Hall. Survivors include her son, Dr. Scott Barton, daughter-in-law, Mitchelle Barton, of Ada, OK; granddaughter, Aileen (Allie) Loraine Barton, of Oklahoma City, OK and her sister, Joanne (Bruce) York of Ashland, KY. Surviving nieces and nephews and their families, Alan (Amy) York, Sarah York and Laura York, Alexandra Myers, Adrienne (Brandon) Sehein and Zoe Sehein.
