  1. Our family first came to know Junior when he was, I believe, 10 years old. My brother Kenneth and Junior bumped into each other in the alley behind our house. They were both coming home from school and they stopped to talk. Kenneth invited Junior in to meet the family. Junior spent the next 3 summers with us.
He was well-behaved and always respectful. He said he moved often and he was always on the lookout for a large family. Large families never minded when another child came in to play and stayed for dinner. Throughout that time, he ate with his mother and sister, and he ate with us, yet he never got fat.
We were also impressed with him the time he won the spelling contest on our patio, beating out both of our children.
He had been with us so long that we thought of him as a part of the family. We had forgotten that Junior told us he moved often. When he came to tell us that it was time for him to move, we didn’t want him to go and we know he missed us.
He called once several months after the move. He said he had found an older couple near his new home, and they needed a boy. They took him everywhere with them – even fishing. I figure that Junior spoke of us often enough that the older couple told him to call us and let us know he was doing fine.
There were also many times as an adult, when he saw our mother that he would call out even across a parking lot to say, “Hey, Juanita” and wave.
I can’t express how sad I am over his passing.

  2. Loved this boy, worked with him at Harts in Ceredo. Took him home several times when we got off at night. He was a good boy. Hurts me to see his obituary. Haven’t seen him in years..Rest in Peace, my friend!
