Wade Jennings Morrison, Jr., 89, of Huntington, WV. passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with Pastor Jody Fortner officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington. Wade was born November 6, 1935 in Lavalette, WV. a son of the late Wade Jennings and Sophia Bias Morrison. Wade was retired from the West Virginia American Water Company. He loved to talk, laugh, and sit outside in the summer. Wade had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers Walter, Herbert, Paul, Richard and LeRoy and three sisters Ada, Lucy Ruth and Lesta. Survivors include his beloved wife Opal Mahon Morrison; son and daughter-in-law Wade Jennings Morrison, II (Melissa); two grandchildren Hannah and JW; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Vickie Pelfrey and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church. Rollins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
