Samuel Dale Ferguson, 54, of Kenova, WV passed away August 4, 2026. He was born September 3, 1971 a son of Emy (Kelly) Runyon White and the late Samuel David Ferguson. Dale was a 1989 graduate of Milton High School then briefly attended Marshall University before receiving his degree from West Virginia Tech. He was a self employed owner/operator of 165 Designs LLC and did a lot of contracting work through J. H. Fletcher & Co. Dale enjoyed working on his farm and he loved his animals. He enjoyed hunting and shark fishing and being outdoors. He also loved Key West, Florida. Dale is survived by his mother, Emy; his beloved children, Ashley Nichole Ferguson and Dale Thomas (Hannah) Ferguson and their mother, Carrie Ferguson; step sisters, Lynn Cooper and Cyndi Lewis; step brother, Mike Cooper; a niece, Kayla Cooper and a host of friends and family who will greatly miss him. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Byrd officiating. I was heartbroken when I heard of Dale‘s passing. We were friends in high school and graduated together, but became closer over the past few years. Our friendship meant a lot to me. He would often talk about his son and daughter and how proud he was of them. My heart goes out to the family. Dale will truly be missed.
I haven’t left a comment on here, because I was praying the right words would come to me. I realized that there isn’t enough words in the English language to express the amount of loss that I feel. Ferg was an amazing friend and a wonderful person. One of the strongest most caring and sensitive soles I have ever had the pleasure to know. He was the gold standard. I was so sorry to hear about Dale’s passing. Dale was a work colleague. Before ever meeting him, I recall studying one of his designs and thinking “wow, whoever designed this is so creative and thorough.” He was a pleasure to chat with. I will be thinking of Dale’s family during this difficult time.

Dale was a fantastic engineer and person I had the opportunity to work with for years. He will be sorely missed and I feel so sorry for his family so my condolences.
I was absolutely crushed when I heard the news of Ferg’s passing. I had the awesome privilege of spending a lot of time with him over the years. He was another brother to me and another son to our family. We all loved him. I am so thankful for the wonderful memories I have of him and will cherish them forever. Prayers for his family and everyone who knew him. He will be missed greatly!

Wow! I’m so sorry to hear about Dale. He is an inspiration on many levels. His faith, intelligence, awareness. I got to know Dale through work. He was a great mentor. He often spoke of his Key West trips and shared advice if I were to make the same trip. He will be missed.
