William “Bill” M. Yates,61, of Ceredo, W.Va. passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at his residence. He was born April 15, 1960 in Perry, FL. a son of the late Charles Edward and Elizabeth Rachel Bills Yates. He was a former custodian with the Wayne County School System at Spring Valley High School. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Charles Yates; Loretta Carter and Gretta Yates. Survivors include his beloved wife Melinda “Susie” Yates; two sons Jeremy Yates and Joshua Yates; siblings Danny Bills; Phyllis Carter; Glenn Yates; Herschel Yates; Lillian Remak; Patty Rose; Tony Yates; Barbara Yates; Tammy Hale and Greg Yates and a special aunt Elsie Hubbard. Perry, Jr, Timothy A

Timothy Allen Perry, Jr. 45, of Ona, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his home. He is the son of Timothy A. and Jeannie Hardwick Perry of Huntington, W.Va. Timothy was born July 16, 1976 in Huntington, W.Va. He graduated from Vinson High School and was a member of the 1992 state championship golf team. He loved to golf and enjoyed the outdoors where he fished and hunted with his dad as a young man. He also enjoyed growing plants his mother would share with him and working in his garden. We’ve all heard it said that a dog is man’s best friend and that was certainly true for Timothy and his dog, Shelby. He was employed as a First Mate for Inland Marine where he worked on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. Timothy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lace and Mickey Hardwick; and by his paternal grandfather, Tom Perry. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Daniel Scott Perry and a daughter, Haleigh Brianne (Mike Burrell) Perry; a granddaughter, Linnea Grace Burrell; a brother, Matthew Vinson Perry; his paternal grandmother, Laura Perry; two uncles, Lace (Jamie) Hardwick and Tom (Sonia) Perry; two aunts, Paula (Philip) Blatt and Kim (Roger) Lewis, and several cousins. Timothy will be greatly missed by his family who loved him. Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va. is in charge of the private family arrangements, there will be no public services. Merritt-Skean, Lynne J

Lynne Jane Merritt Skean, of Huntington, WV passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born July 28, 1942 a daughter of the late Charles “Dodge” and Lillie White Merritt. Jane worked as a teller for the First National Bank of Kenova. She attended the Poplar Street Church of God in Kenova when she was still able to go to church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Wesley Merritt; and three sisters, Juanita Eskew, Elizabeth Richards and Annie May Talbert. Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jerri (Jim) Robinson; Jerri’s father, Charles Skean; four grandchildren, Aaron (Charlotte) Fleming, Adam (Jessica) Fleming, Andrew Fleming and Aubrey Fleming; 10 great grandchildren, Alice and Gwen Fleming, Michael, Maddison and Kenna Fleming, Emilia, Elizabeth and John Fleming, Anne Goode and Brenna Gue; three brothers and their spouses, Charles Leonard Merritt, Dallas (Brenda) Merritt and Roy Dale (Sandy) Merritt and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, WV. Graham, Barbara C

Barbara Carol Graham, 79, of Chesapeake, OH. passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born February 27, 1942 in Kenova, W.Va. a daughter of the late Dorwin Davis and the late Louise Canterbury Milum. She was an avid supporter of animal shelters and a strong police supporter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Larry David Graham and a daughter Barbara Ann Marcum. Survivors include a son James “Darrin” Marcum (Tracy); daughter Gina S. Milum; grandchildren Jessica Rollins and Brittany White (Caleb); three great-grandchildren Dylan, Nora Jo and Judah and a special cousin Bryan Hensley. Julia George Young,91, of Kenova, WV. passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 13, 2021 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Scarberry officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. She was born February 12, 1930 in Peach Orchard, Ky. a daughter of the late Elias and Diane Scarberry George. She was a former custodian with the Wayne County School System with 19 years of service and was employed with Tudor’s Biscuit World for 10 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Clyde Young, Sr.; son, Clyde Young, Jr.; daughter, Ruby Gail Young; sister, Ruby George and three brothers, Chester, Gene and Elias, Jr. George. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law Teresa Mannon (Jerry) and Brenda Young; one son Larry Keith Young; sister and brother-in-law Dottie Meade (Junior); two grandchildren Michael and Jeremy and six great-grandchildren. Coniff, Julia A

Julia A Coniff, 82, of Huntington, WV, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Mary Underwood, her brother Chuck “Shorty” Underwood and husband, James Coniff. She is survived by her brother, Herb “Sonny” Underwood, 4 children, Wendy (Terry), Jennifer, Stan (Tina) and Robyn (Greg). She was Nana to 7 grandchildren, Heather, Holly, Mark, Matthew, Brooke (Nick), Preston and Connor, 11 great grandchildren, Leah, Cali, Anna, Macy, Eden, Brayden, Gavin, Nicholas, Ava Jerrika and Charlie and her beloved Shih Tzu, Dolly. Julie loved her family greatly and was loved greatly by them. She loved the color red, animals, puzzles, playing cards, watching football (especially Alabama) but she mostly loved spending time with her family. She will be missed immensely. There will be no public services at this time.

Tammy Lynn Pennington Glassburn, 52, of Lancaster, OH, formerly of Huntington, W.Va. passed away at her home on Sunday, October 31, 2021. She attended Ceredo-Kenova High School and Marshall University. Tammy was employed with ODW Logistics in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Pennington; brother Rick Pennington and grandmother Thelma Ruth Gilliam. Tammy was an avid animal lover and a devoted caregiver to all animals. She will be laid to rest with her loving best friend, her dog Herschel. Survivors include her devoted husband of 23 years Johnny A. Glassburn; loving son Johnny Glassburn, Jr.; mother Terisha Pennington; sister Terisha Johnson (Chuck); mother-in-law Judy Harmon (Danny) and extended family members and friends. James T. Billups, 90, of Ceredo, passed peacefully to eternal life on Saturday, November 20, 2021. A lifelong resident of Ceredo, he was born September 25, 1931, the eldest son of the late Paul T. and Marie Workman Billups. In addition to his parents, Mr. Billups was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Patricia S. Billups, and siblings Helen Webb, Clyde Billups, and Bob Billups. He is survived by his sister, Judy Akers (Gary) and his children, Paul A. Billups (Kathy), Leigh Johnson (Richard), J. Dorsey, Deborah K

Deborah Kathleen Dorsey, 70, of Ceredo, WV, went to be with her Lord after passing away Thursday, November 18th, 2021, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 21, 2021by Pastor Jeffery Canterbury at Rollins Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Deborah was born on August 13th, 1951, in Cabell County to the late Harry Prince and Pearl Riley Prince. She was a good-natured and kindhearted soul who greatly loved and was equally loved by her family and community. She and her cute, lovable shih tzu, Sachi, enjoyed sitting on the porch on warm weather days greeting neighbors and passers-by. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dorsey, sister, Sharon Black and brother Bobby Prince. She is survived by her two sons Stephen and Justin Dorsey; three sisters Alma “Sis” Pyles, Barbara Devore, Marilyn (George) Black; two brothers Leslie (Charlotte) Prince, Dwight (Christie) Prince; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Bartley, Michael R

Michael Ray Bartley was born in Greencastle, Indiana on a spring day May 1, 1952 to the late Kermit and JoAnn Bartley. He had a younger brother Donald Lee Bartley and a younger sister Barbara Jo Thomas who he loved with all his heart.

On July 3, 1971 he married the love of his life Margaret Jayne Bartley.

As those who knew him well, his presence was felt at all moments. His energy could brighten a room.
