Imogene Kay Sexton, 64, of Huntington WV. passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Imogene was born May 25, 1960 in Huntington. She was preceded in death by four siblings. Survivors include a daughter Sarah Dubois, son Shaun Sexton; sisters Lynn Stevens and Rosemary Porter; three grandchildren Tony Ingram, III, Shaun Sexton, Jr. and Raven Sexton and one great-grandchild Owen Ingram. Beverly Ann Billups
Beverly Ann Billups, 91, of Kenova, WV, passed away on August 29, 2024, at Madison Park Healthcare in Huntington, WV. She was born November 18, 1932, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Chauncey and Garnet Mae Hager Knight. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Joseph Elmon Billups, D.D.S., three brothers, William C. Knight, Robert Knight, and James T. Knight; sisters, Mary Ward, Hilda Wyrick, Norma Richardson, Doris Knight, Jean Evelyn Knight, Ruth Knight, and Betty Fulkerson.
Beverly was a graduate of Huntington East High School, Huntington, WV and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington and later, the First Baptist Church of Kenova. She was an employee of C&P Telephone in Pittsburgh, PA, and Huntington, WV and later, Coby’s Blooming Miracleswhere she cared for the plants of many Huntington businesses and became dear friends with owner, Coby Hickman. A devoted wife and mother, she loved spending time with her family, working jigsaw puzzles, watching football, and taking care of her many poodles she owned over the years. She will especially be remembered for her laughter and sense of humor. An avid animal lover, she cared not only for her own, but also any that lived near her home in Kenova.

Linda Kay Haynie Duty
Linda Kay Haynie Duty, 74, of Kenova, WV. passed away Monday August 26, 2024 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM and funeral services will be conducted following visitation at Kenova United Methodist Church with Pastor Andrew Tennant officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lovely Linda Scholarship Fund for the Training Station Preschool, at the Kenova United Methodist Church, 503 15 th Street, Kenova, WV. Linda was born December 11, 1949 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Arthur Haynie and Doris Chandler Haynie. She is preceded in death by her loving husband William “Russ” Duty. Linda was a homemaker but spent countless hours volunteering at Kenova United Methodist where she was a member and sang in the choir for many years. Linda boasted many accolades throughout the years but was most proud of her national championship win for muzzleloader shooting in 1984. She is survived by a beloved son Christopher Duty, brother Mike Haynie (Jean) sister-in-law Sue Midkiff, brother-in-law Dave Duty, brother-in-law Mark Duty (Lori), adopted son Brian Whittaker, and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Larry Leslie Lloyd
Larry Leslie Lloyd,85, of Kenova, WV. passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at his residence. Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #93 whose Honor Guard will administer military graveside rites. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter Badge and Marksman Badge. Larry was born February 10, 1939 in Wayne, WV. a son of the late Burgess and Anna Lee Smith Lloyd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers Burgess Lloyd, Jr, Ronnie Lloyd, Bert Lloyd and Kenny Lloyd. Survivors include a daughter Linda Lou Lloyd and a sister Ramona McCollister. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Monday at Rollins Funeral Home. James Michael “Mike” Lowe
James Michael “Mike” Lowe,73, of Kenova, WV. passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Rollins Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Byard officiating. There will be an Eastern Star service beginning at 6:00 P.M. Burial will take place Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. at Hillcrest cemetery with Masonic graveside rites. Mike was a proud veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #93 whose Honor Guard will administer military graveside rites. He was born January 5, 1951 in Kenova, WV. a son of the late James Harding and Erma Lee Smith Lowe. Mike was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on August 16, 1974 and was a 50 year member of the Buena Vista Masonic Lodge and Huntington No 8, Order of the Eastern Star. He was retired from Whayne Supply and J & L Pumps where he was the owner and operator. He was long time member of the Kenova Volunteer Fire Department including during November of 1970. Mike was married to his beloved wife Jane for 34 years before she passed in 2005. Despite his many health challenges Mike lived longer than his mother by a year and a half, his father by 31 years and his wife by 22 years. His longevity can only be attributed to the decades of care given by his daughter Jamie and friend Theresa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jane Lee Lowe. Survivors include two daughters Marnie L. (David) Graley and Jamie M. Lowe; brother and sister-in-law Pete and Cindy Lowe; special nephew Kenneth Bannon; special granddaughter Destanee Carter; his sidekick fur baby Lucy and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the dedicated medical professionals who loved and cared for Mike over the years. Visitation will be 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at Rollins Funeral Home. Dallas Glen Maynard,91, of Ceredo, WV. passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 P.M. He was a retired truck driver and attended the Jefferson Avenue Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Marie Robinson and Freda Mae Young and one brother Curtis Maynard. WILDA “FAYE” LESTER, 91, of Kenova, WV, died Saturday, August 17, 2024 at her home. Friends may pay their respects Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM and funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM; a brief graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Kenova. Faye was born September 8,1932 in Ceredo, WV, a daughter of the late Fred Stewart and Ruth Workman Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Lester Sr., son, Dale Fredrick Lester, brother and sister, Jimmie Stewart and Janet Stewart Mayo, her nephew Jimmie Lee Stewart, and niece and namesake, Alice Faye Mayo. Faye was retired from Adel Fastener’s Division in Huntington, and was a long time member of The First Baptist Church of Kenova. She was loved dearly by all who knew her and her greatest joy was her family, and her Lord Jesus Christ. She is survived by her two sons, Albert L. “Al” Lester Jr., and his wife June of California, MD and Brian D. Lester and his wife Sarah of Kenova; two daughters in law, Sheila Lester of Ft. Mill, SC and Melissa (Jim) Wyatt of Huntington, WV; her grandchildren, Albert L. “Lee” Lester III (Leigh Ann), Amy Cloke, Jonathan Lester, Ashley Heck, and Nathan Graves (Toshia); great grandchildren Erica Ramsey and her father Shawn Ramsey, Dylan Lester and his mother Michelle Hurn, Ryder Cloke, Jailey, Joseph, James and Jenson Heck, and Avery and Gavin Graves; special niece and nephews Mary Ann Washington, Scott Stewart, Steven Stewart, and Ron Mayo; her very dear friend, Rae Dean; special caregivers Terusha Romans and Barbara Hamm.
Norma Frances (Fran) Workman Knapp
Norma Frances (Fran) Workman Knapp, 87, of Foster, KY, formerly of Ceredo, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was born November 13, 1937 in Spencer, W.Va. a daughter of the late Jay W. and Mamie Thompson Workman. Fran married the love of her life, Robert Lee Knapp, and worked to make a happy home for him and their children. Together they attended the First Baptist Church of Ceredo where they were active in many church ministries. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Fran was also preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Needs and Evelyn LaBombard; three brothers, John Workman, Robert Workman and her twin brother, Rev. Fred Workman; a daughter-in-law, Jean Knapp and her father and mother-in-law, Led and Justine Knapp. She is survived by one daughter, Jaye Lynn (Edward) Hebel; one son, David Knapp; three granddaughters, Sara, Ashley and Emily; six great grandchildren, Dylan, Connor, Leigh Lynn, Silas, Sully and Frankie; and two sisters-in-law, Edie Workman and Betty Workman. Fran will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova, W.Va. Constance Romaine Stewart
Constance Romaine Stewart, 89, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away July 26, 2024 at home. She was born January 19, 1935 on Cemetery Hill Ceredo, Wayne County, W.Va. the daughter of the late Taylor and Martha Adkins Frazier. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her eldest son, Jimmie Lee Stewart, Jr.; her grandson, Steven Wayne Stewart, II; her siblings, Floretta Gail McKenzie, Billie Jewell Frazier, Conrad Elmo Frazier, Judith Patricia Banghart, Taylor “Butch” Frazier, Jr., and John Mark Frazier. She is survived by sons, Scott Wade Stewart and Steven Wayne Stewart; sister, JoAnne Frazier Berry Rife, all of Kenova; grandchildren, Holly M. Duff, Kyle M. Stewart, Staci L. Stewart, Jimmie E. Stewart, Constance C. (Robert) Riggott, and Scott B. Stewart; nine great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Connie was a 1953 graduate of Ceredo-Kenova High School. She worked as the secretary at Ceredo Elementary School for 32 years where all of the kids called her Miss Connie. She would nurse their scrapes and bruises and made sure they had shoes and clothes if needed. Mom loved to read her books and had hundreds in her bookshelves. When she retired from Ceredo Elementary they named the library “The Connie Stewart Library.” She loved everyone and will be greatly missed, we could not have asked for a better mom. Connie was also a long time member of American Legion Post 93 Kenova Auxiliary. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 10:00 am until Noon at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Donald E. Spence (Poppa), 101, of Huntington passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Kenova Church of Christ of which he was a member, Elder and Teacher for over 40 years, with Minister Chris Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Don was a retired receiving clerk with the former Houdaille Industries and a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy. He was born May 18, 1924 in Wayne County. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Myrtle Ellen Williamson Spence; son-in-law Don R. Moore and son-in-law Donald L. Gallion, Jr. He is survived by two daughters Donna Ellen Moore and Beth Genene Ratliff; a son-in-law James Ratliff; four grandchildren Jeff, Shawn, Leslie and Aaron; seven great-grandchildren Kristina, Ellen, Lauren, Anna Grace, Ava, Addyson and Ryan and two great-great-grandchildren Harper Jayne and Titus Crew.
