Lawson, Richard L

Richard Lee Lawson, 66, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born September 8, 1954 in Hamlin, W.Va. a son of the late Arthur and Ruth Pauley Lawson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Marcie and Mary Jane and one grandson Nathaniel. Survivors include his wife Jamie Bailey Lawson; children Michele Lawson, Melissa Cooper, Cindy McCoy and Tracie Thocher; two sisters Darlene Mason and Renee Strickland and grandchildren Parker, Andrew, Jordan, Bryce, Laycee, Baylee, Emma and Lilly. Gilkerson, Brady H

Brady Herman Gilkerson, 43, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born August 10, 1977 in Huntington, W.Va. a son of Gary “Sonny” Gilkerson and Kathy (Jay) Enterkin. Brady was a paratrooper in the United States Army for 17 years. He served in five combat tours, three in Afghanistan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. His first duty station was in El Paso, Texas where he met the love of his life, Tiffany Gilkerson. Together they spent a large portion of his military career stationed in North Carolina where his three daughters Haley Gilkerson, Emily Gilkerson and Izzy Gilkerson were born and raised. Once retired Brady and his family moved back to his hometown in West Virginia where he continued to serve his community by joining the Fort Gay Volunteer Fire Department and briefly worked for the Prichard EMS. He was preceded in death by a sister Drema Gilkerson; paternal grandparents Dora Frasher and Brady (Jim) Gilkerson and maternal grandparents Barbara Perdue and John Ellis and maternal step-grandmother Billie Blevins. In addition to his parents he is survived by his beloved wife Tiffany Gilkerson; four children Haley, Emily and Dora (Izzy) Gilkerson and Allison Peterman (Austin); two grandchildren Brooklyn and Elijah Peterman; brother Shawn Gilkerson; step-sister Kimberly Kuntz (A.J.) and step-brother Craig Enterkin. Sarver, Perry W

Retired Captain Perry Wayne Sarver of the Huntington Fire Department passed away Tuesday January 5, 2021 at the Cabell Health Care Center. Perry was born July 22, 1955, a son of Carol Sue Childress Sarver Curry. He was a graduate of Huntington High School. Perry was employed by the City of Huntington. A member of Local IAFF 289, he was hired August 13, 1979. On June 9, 1980 he received his National Registry EMT certification.  He was promoted to Lieutenant March 2, 1985 and then was promoted to Captain September 26, 1987 and finally retiring in 1994. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Berton & Lucille McCormick. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Tina Louise Turner Sarver; one son, Kristopher Sarver; one daughter, Brittany Ann Atteberry. Grandchildren, Bella, Livy, Kinley, Weston; one special nephew, Emerson Pauley; two brothers, Jerry Sarver and Jonathan (Taite) Pauley; one sister, Camilla Brammer; two honorary granddaughters, Reagan and Reese Mooney; special friends, Christopher (Christa) Mooney and Fred Mellert and a host of other family and friends.  Tina would like to thank the entire staff at Cabell Health Care Center for their loving and compassionate care, especially the Light House Unit. Funeral services will be conducted at Kenova United Methodist Church, January 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Eulogist Retired Captain Forrest Marshall, Huntington Fire Department. Charles Anthony “Tony” Delpapa, 42, of Huntington, W.Va. passed away Monday, November 9, 2020.  Graveside services will be conducted 2:15 P.M. Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Browning Cemetery on Goodwill Road with Pastor Gary Graves officiating. Tony was born January 29, 1978 in Huntington, W.Va. son of Charles Delpapa and Rebecca Lancaster Delpapa. Tony loved his children and family and he loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Harry Lancaster and paternal grandparents Mildred and Lawrence Delpapa. In addition to his parents he is survived by his precious children, daughter, Addison Delpapa and son, Charles “Chas” Delpapa; sister and brother-in-law Meredith and Justin Fallon; niece Emily Fallon; nephews Colton and Lane Fallon; maternal grandmother Betty Lancaster; best friends Nick Angelo, Freddie McCoy and Jerrod Workman and many, many other friends and family members. Plymale, Emma “Poodle”

Emma “Poodle” Plymale, 87, of Kenova, W.Va. passed away March 5, 2020 at her residence.  Funeral service will be conducted 1:30 P.M. Monday, March 9, 2020 at Dock’s Creek Cemetery with Pastor Jim Richards officiating. She was born January 9, 1933 in Charleston, W.Va. a daughter of the late John Allen and Fannie Lockwood Workman. She retired from Mack & Dave’s where she was an Office Clerk. Poodle was a loving and giving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband George W. Plymale. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Heather and Dirk Blevins; one son and daughter-in-law Jorge Eric and Cheryl Plymale; two granddaughters Erica and Eric Denney and Jade Spurlock; one great-grandchild Marley Denney; two brothers and sister’s-in-law Frank and Glenna Workman and Lonnie and Jane Workman and special nieces Becky Christian and Sue Ward.
